I have a slight problem.
I have a 76 vette with a 19" by 31" griffin aluminum radiator. two tci electric fans that move 2200 cfm at 5 amps and a flex fan. I also have a 180 degree thermastat. The car was still runnin hot with all of this. I bought a new indy front spoiler and that cooled the...
That should be illegal to show such horrible pictures on this site. To see one of our brethren torn to shreds. It pains my heart. but on a lighter note, slaps some clearcoat on and that babys ready to go. haha
one other thing
YOU SHOULD HEAR THE NOISE GOING 155MPH. That will get the adrenaline flowing. the thought in the back of your mind, wondering if something is gonna break. ha
I am in the same boat
My vette has been in the shop for almost 5 months. It caught on fire in late December and hasnt seen the road since. I should get it back from the body shop in the next two weeks, but that is not what i wanted to say. Before my vette caught on fire, i noticed a slight...
SUGGESTION
If enough clearance was not given when you installed the wheel bearings on the spindle, then the wheel bearing could have possible already worn out. If they are not installed with proper tolerances you can ruin a spindle. Again, although the wheel bearings are new that doesnt mean...
emblem reply,
Me personally, the c-5 image looks much sleeker. but i have decided to stay with the c-3 emblems anyway. i just couldnt bring myself to change the emblems. i would possibly do it if i had retrofit a c-5 drivetrain and suspension but that will never happen. thanks for the insight...
hey, i was considering using a c-5 nose emblem and rear deck emblem to replace my original 76 emblems...give me some feedback on how you think it would look.. thanks
HEY TACOED
I dont really care about ride quality. i am mainly gonna use the car for scca events. so if you have any info on that. please let me know. and i play baseball for south alabama. if you are ever down this way in your vette, i might give you a shot at my 451hp 76 vette.
Has anyone tried any racing suspension kits from any companies. i know mid america carries a racing suspension, but i do not know of any results from the sus. being used. if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated. please only respond if its about a racing suspension. thanks
silver 80,
My vette is in the shop right now. I had a fuel leak and the car caught on fire. The engine bay and a lot of the paint was really damaged. All of the pictures i have are on regular film. but as soon as i get pictures i will get them to you.
p.s. if you get a different wheel make...
hey,
thanks for the advice, but i really want to make this car ready for scca events. i dont really want a straight line car. ill run it at the track for sure but ill just do that for fun. i am about to put a racing suspension package in, so i really want this manual. what are your thoughts...
LISTEN TO ME,
Dont make this out any harder than it is. and yes they do make torque thrust rims in 17" . I have 17" one peice billet aluminum centerline wheels on my 76. When i was going to order them all the guy at the tire place did was call and ask for the proper spacing for my corvette...
not hard
i have a 76 vette with 17"by8" wheels.. when you get the new wheels, where ever you buy them just ask them to make sure they will fit your year model vette.. and all they will do is check what the backspacing is...its not a big deal..
suggestion
First of all if you are running any type of 15" rim with a 50 or 60 profile there is gonna be a lot of side wall flex...a lower profile tire is always the way to go...but a low profile 15" tire on a vette would look retarded...i suggest that you go with a 16 or 17 inch rim for...
what do you guys think about this. i have 425hp in my 76 corvette with a 3 speed auto. i am about to put a 5 speed manual tranny in from a 97 camaro. i am also goin to change the rearend gears to either 3.90 or 4.11. do you think that the spindles, u-joints,yolks and everything in the rearend...
