I had a problem with the idle when I got the vette back from Las Vegas 2 weeks ago and it turned out to be the connecting linkage was crushed and was binding on the T.V. cable bracket clip.
That being all sorted out now, I started to look in the FSM for what the cable does. I found location...
I'm not sure if the year makes a difference, but I need an AIR pump pulley for a 1984....
Send me a notification and we'll work out the details.....
Thanks,
Bob
Thanks Boom....that's the info I was looking for. So no matter what, I need to go back to the 195 stat....the 180 wouldn't be much help in this case.
Vetteboy, the fan was working like that when I got it and I didn't think anything of it until this thread.
I can't pop the stat to check the temp stamp until this weekend, but I had intended to do just that. My buddy has a laser temp gun and I'm going to check that as well.
The fan comes on with key "on" and engine not running.
Sorry folks for the strange question after all this time on the forum, but yesterday I installed the low coolant level sensor to finally get my coolant temp gauge working again and it only got to 160 for a high and 147 for a low...this seems to be too low a temperature to me.
It might have a...
No, it wasn't a GM dealer....I've never had such poor service from a dealer. Up till now, I haven't disclosed the name of the shop, and I still don't think I need to smear them. I doubt that anyone on CAC would use them anyway on a regular basis....it was just a bad move on my sons' part to get...
Now that I look back, the GM was just so uncaring about the whole mess and it just boils my blood :mad
I've got the release bill from the shop and the repair bill here to add to this heap of dirt and I have a couple of lawyer friends who live there that I want to give this mess to. I'm sure...
I finally got the Vette back Saturday. I had to catch a ride to Vegas as they wouldn’t send the car back and I had to be at work at 2:00 that afternoon. I planned it out and thought I would make it, but in a perfect world……
To start off, I arrived at the shop after my brother met me at the...
If all else fails, you could take the picture on a thumb drive (flash drive) to your local Staples and have them make it to poster size for you...We just did a color enlargement to 4 X 4 at work that was around $20.00.
Just my .02...
It's a great feeling, isn't it?.....myself, like Jane Ann, waited almost 40 years to come down off the fence and get one....
Enjoy your Vette.....:beer
Hi Marc;
My take on this, for what its worth.....
It’s so bad??
You could find worse things...was it running when you drained the oil? Did you hear any noises before you drained the pan?
I can run with this??
Yes, you could, but like others have already said, you could run into serious...
We were about to do it ourselves, but they offered to do it, gave it to me in writing and arranged transportation for it....I really can't sweat the air cleaner and AIR controls on the windshield and I'm sure it'll be clean when it gets here, or my buddy will have it re-detailed where the kids...
They're getting my car back together this week...finally. The DM says that they should be done this week. He has to juggle around his vacation time so he has 2 days to bring the car back....
This is the pic that got me....the DM said that "this" is what did the damage...lol.....
That bypass check valve didn't do all the damage....I couldn't believe he had the intelligence to come up with that excuse...
We've had a relatively mild winter this time around my way and I've missed out on many "top off" days....only got to drive it 4 days since October and the wait to get it back is gettin' to me.
:D
