:) Dony know about your 92 but on my L81C3 I took the mufflers off and ran straight pipes back from where the mufflers would have been and kept the stock cat.Put chrome down tips on and it looks and sounds awesome. No popping on decel and seems to have enough back pressure. Feels like more...
I don't know for sure but I think its like an epoxy process. Something I'm sure a radiator shop should do since the cooling system operates under pressure.
If it was because of a leak the core rarely leaks unless damaged. It is not uncommon for the tanks to leak where they bond to the core BECAUSE they are plastic.

I bought them for use later,when I need them. The ones on my car are not the best either. Some of the Vette catalogs show them for sale but says call for price.:beer
