I just have to laugh at all of these arm chair Z06 drivers. :L If you want to find out what it's like, you can't do it sitting in a chair reading the latest car industry rag. Get one out on a track! Then you will know just what this car actually is; proviuded you don't succomb to heart attack...
Cosworth designed the Corvette Performance Data Recorder and they have a free software package that will give a very good view of your driving sessions. The attached screen dump is from my sessions at Ron Fellows. The map overlay is based upon PDR GPS data and the video is from the PDR...
The picture is a local motors harness bar installed in a Bondurant C7. If you use a harness bar, you can install 5 or 6 point belts. The Ron Fellows level one cars all use stock 3 point belts which are fine unless you are going to try to run something like the Silver State Classic Challenge in a...
The A8 actually gets near 11.0 when launch control is used. Traction control catches the throttle and holds it just below rear wheel spin and that gives max power without wheel spin and the best 1/4 mile times achievable. It also takes the excessive load off the transmission.
All cars with really wide front tires do this. The tires scrub, catch, and scrub when the wheel is turned near the lock on either side. Easing off on the wheel stops it.
The stock seats and the race seats hold you about the same when they are adjusted properly. The school recommends a steep rake in the front of the seat which prevents you from sliding forward under hard braking and a high seating position to keep you above the brake with arms almost parallel to...
Just finished the Ron Fellows Z06 racing school. The car had the racing seats and my Z06/Z07 has the stock seats. The racing seats are not as comfortable BUT the differences are small.
Still prepping for the Silver State Classic Challenge. Since they put me in "Dumb Class" I took the opportunity to enroll in the ZO6 Driving school at Ron Fellows Racing School. Ride along with me and my instructor on my day 2 orientation lap and you will see just how quick a 2015 Z06 really is...
Mine was fixed when the new On-Star module was installed at the end of January. I can tell you, though, that when you use the corporate customer care hotline to complain about a dealer, they light a fire under them. The down side is the dealer may retaliate. Mine did; they had the repairs on...
Anybody except me entered in the Silver State Classic Challenge on September 17th - 20th, 2015? I'll be there with ZO6 #399 and I hope to see some of you! 90 miles down Nevada 318 with no traffic, no police and no speed limit! What ELSE is there to do with a ZO6?
Yes, that's what they told me when they couldn't get the tires mounted on my Z06. Don't worry about it they said. After two weeks of watching the three stooges try to mount those tires I opened a case number with corporate, and it was as if a miracle occurred, they got them mounted. I told them...
The foolish child who wrote this should try driving one with the adaptive handling and traction control turned off! :rotfl:rotfl This thing is an animal!
