    Rear hatch latch

VJ, Fixed it using your suggestion about going at it through one of the tailights. Discovered that the upper right (out of 4) flat headed bolts did not have a nut and washer on it. That's probably what made it loose to begin with then caused the upper left bolt to just break the 'glass. Replaced...

    Headlight adj screws

I try very hard not to drive the C5 in the dark. With the lousy lights and my poor eyesight I try to keep my vette in the sunshine...or drive the wife's C6. So...I couldn't tell which one does what. You will post your results won't you :D

    Calling All Silver C5's

Remo, Just bought a Machine Silver '07 Coupe 6-speed paddle shift automatic for the wife to go with my '01 Torch Red C5 Coupe. No pictures...yet. Took the '01 to the cruisefest since it had a little more room for the wife, 2 Dachshunds, cooler, luggage and odds and ends. BTW did you win the...

    Creaky coupe roof -any fix?

Sounds like (no pun intended) that you have just about covered all your bases BUT have you looked into the b-pillar head liner. There are 4-push pins that hold it in place and the plastic push pins can pop out which happened to mine on the passenger side. Wife was complaining about the squeaking...

Do you folks name you cars?

Until we got the '07 the '01 was nameless. Now it's "Old Red" and the silver '07 is now "Silver Streak" (driven by the "Silver Fox"). She's getting plates that read GRMSVT with a profile of a small hand beside the "T". That means PopPop may not get to drive Silver Streak;shrug

    Rear hatch latch

Thanks VJ. I actually thought about that on my commute home tonight. I will try it this weekend. I'll have to enlarge the holes I drilled. Any suggestions on how to remove the original "rivets" - actually let me take a look at them from the other side (tailight side). I may be able to remove the...

    Rear hatch latch

Bigger problem than I imagined. The latch cover is held in place by the lower cargo net loop. Remove that and the net since it will get in your way. Then work the cover loose; you may have to work it around the targa top cargo latch to remove. Don't pull too hard since the cover also retains one...

    Rear hatch latch

Thanks 99whitecoupe I'll try that and maybe I'll solve one of those nagging problems once and for all.

    Rear hatch latch

The rear hatch latch has always been a problem for my C5 especially the passenger side. Comparing the two (left vs. right), I realized that the left side latch is firmly in place and doesn't move while there is a lot of movement on the right side. Any tech tips on how to access the latch and...

On the other hand, older, one-owner models with mid mileage could have had all the problems worked out and ready to go 100k.

Notes on Napa to Cruisefest road trip in C5

Hey Jim, I keep a logbook in all my vehicles. Basically just a checkbook wallet and register. The register leaves a lot of room to write fill-up info and any special notes. Also keep the car papers (registration, insurance info) in it. Plus the DIC in the C5 lets you accumulate other info...

Notes on Napa to Cruisefest road trip in C5

Just some trip notes in 2001 C5 Coupe 6-speed. Left Napa, CA Sunday 6/24 and returned Sunday 7/1 Two adults, two Dachshunds and their travel kennel, medium sized cooler, soft sided luggage for the humans, goodie bag, dog goodie bag, 3 pair shoes and 2 pair flip flops for wife, 2 pair shoes...

    C-6 VS. C-5

What I really like on the C6 are the new EMT run flats over the C5 runflats. The new EMTs don't seem much harsher or nosier than the GY F1 GS-D3s I have on my C5 now. In fact if I didn't know it, I would not think that I was running on EMTs. Hope that Goodyear make these in C5 sizes.

    C-6 VS. C-5

Have 2001 Coupe and just bought 2007 Coupe for the wife with the paddle shift automatic. Definetely tighter inside - in the 2001 I have to move the seat forward about an inch or so. In the 2007 I have the seat ALL the way back and want just a little more.

    paddle shifters

Just bought a 6-speed paddle shift for the wife. I like my 6-speed manual but I can see where I could get really used to the automatic especially when I don't want to shift (like in heavy traffic). Got the 3LT package, Mag Select Ride and Chrome Wheels, Machine Silver Exterior, two-tome seats...

What are you paying for a C6??

Bought mine Sunday (actually hers) Driving around after dinner Saturday, 6/2 and saw a 2007 Machine Silver coupe at our local Chev dealer. Drove it. Wife really liked it a lot especially since it had the 6-speed automatic w/paddle shifter, 3LT package, Magnetic Select Ride Countrol, Chrome...
