Not that it makes any difference but I thought they were located in Emeryville (between Berkeley and Oakland).

DD is a 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. One of the better V6's ever produced which in various guises power most of all Nissan and Infinity sedans. The '03 has 245HP; 240lbs torque. I probably drive this pewter colored 4-door sedan faster (on average) than my '01 Torch Red C5 (the color just attracts...
I noticed no one answered your run-flat question...
If the tires are Goodyears the sidewall will say EMT (extended mobility tire). Those are the run flats. I don't know what other manufacturers call their run flats. If not a Goodyear you may want to access TireRack.com and look up your tire's...
Last Sunday the battery was completely dead. Needed a jump from AAA to get started. It was an excuse to drive so I did about 30 minutes. The voltmeter in the DIC started at about 12.9. After about 15 minutes showed about 14.1. By the time I got home and shut it down showed 14.0. The following...
Mine is a weekend cruiser. Before I put it away for the work week I make sure that I have at least 3/4 tank full. That and Chevron Techron or a tankful of Chevron Premium seems to work for me.
I hear what you say about "fitting in" better with the C5. My wife and I could never go out and have dinner in our '94 since it was difficult to get in with a full belly LOL. She also hated getting in/out wearing a dress or skirt. Much better in our 2001 and we like taking long rides/trips after...
I had a slow leak on one of my GY GS-D3s; about 2 lbs per week. Finally took it to my GY dealer and they determined that it was leaking through a paper bar code glued onto the flange of the tire that meets the wheel rim. They removed the bar code and cleaned off the glue. Tire hasn't leaked...
The more I think about it it may have been between the '84 and '85 C4 tops that there was a design change and not between the '97 and '98 tops. Can anyone else help out on this?
Try not to have an empty/near empty tank for extended periods of time such as a week especially if your car is a weekend warrior. Before putting it away Sunday night be sure you have at least 2/3rds tank. I had this problem intermitantly until 2-yeasr ago when I made sure to keep the tank fairly...
I too quit smoking after I bought my C5 in Sept 2001 the weekend after 9/11. Did a nicotine patch for a week then forgot it one day and never put one on again. Haven't touched a cigarette since. Sure helps keep the inside of the car cleaner; smells cleaner too! Congrats! Smoked for 35 years; I...
If I remember past threads, there was a slight design change on the top's latching system between the 97 and 98. If your 97 top is damaged in any way it may be difficult to replace since the newer tops won't fit.
Installed the GS-D3s on my 2002 C5 about 2 years ago. Much quieter and smoother than the stock run-flats. And yes they are great in the rain. On an autocross course running about 1-second closer to the "R" tired vettes on a 30-second course.
Just purchased a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended Cab with the 5.3 V8. Will mods to the intake (K&N FIPK system) and/or exhaust (Flowmaster) help performance in any way (or is it only in the eyes and ears of the beholder).
Local Chevron was at $2.69 regular, $2.79 mid-grade and $2.89 premium (and premium only 91 octane in California) this morning.
Never used Exxon gas but noticed that in California, Exxon is anywhere from 10-15 cents per gallon cheaper for all grades. Anyone know why Exxon is cheaper than than...
Yup...get the K&N recharging kit and do it right. Be sure that you don't over oil it.
Since you're doing that, also clean off all the dirt that gets sucked up in front of the radiator. Since my driveway slopes down I bring the nose of the vette right to the slope then I can get underneath it...
I still have the CAGS on my '01 C5 and have learned how much throttle it takes to bypass the 1-4 shift. It does not take much to bypass it and should not take you to illegal speeds around town (you can always back down once you are in 2nd). Practice by watching the 1-4 shift light, once it goes...
