Likely. I read that they may be making the SS pretty soon in the Bowling Green Plant alongside the XLR and C6. That's what the clay model looks like to me, except it has 2 doors instead of 4 with those suicide things on the SS concept. Maybe this is more of a true SS coupe.
Ross, I take it...
On the front page of http://www.gminsidenews.com there is a picture of a clay model with some folks looking over it. DO NOT GET TOO EXCITED!!! My question is about the red car in the background with the round tail lights. Is it a small glimpse? I know the pic isn't great on the front page...
Here is something that I just now read. By the information present in this writing, I think that it's old news, but the date at the bottom it says 4/23/03. Rocketblock- it does have some mention of the C6 interior in this, and actually compares it to Audi!
I treat the information in this...
Thanks much. Now that I think about it, it is surprising that none of the Detroit boys have started putting it in their cars. I would think that Saturn, of all of the Big 3 brands, would have had some answer to this by now. The new Ion is boasting a 5-speed auto now.
I do love the rumors...
Dave Hill, in the interview from December, was talking about the same thing (as far as interior goes):
"Dave Hill: I would say that on a value basis Audi would be leading the race to finer and finer interiors. However, I don't think the TT is particularly handsome right in our sports-car class...
The only 2 audi convertibles are the A4 and the TT, but the TT is not new. The new A4's are great cars, although my friends that have them are very disappointed in the service that they get at the dealership, and are disappointed in the reliability of the car. The all say "the little things"...
Can the C5/6 chassis be modified in a manner suitable to support an AWD car? For some reason, I thought that this thing was strictly supposed to be a RWD chassis.
There is a rumor going around that Porsche Engineering Services in Germany is helping to design an AWD system for the C6. Is there any support for this? I'm not sure I can even validate the existence of "Porsche Engineering Services" as a stand-alone company.
Just curious.
I think that Pontiac should be getting more radicle, but all of the vehicles except for the Aztek look like Grand Ams. Big Grand Ams, little Grand Ams and pretty soon GTO Grand Ams with Vette engines.
I do think that Caddy's design is right on. To me, you can see that edgy CTS-type look in...
Cfour- I think we're on the same page. I do think that it's a shame that some of Corvette's biggest enthusiasts are getting priced out of the game.
It seems to me that some of the folks that own Corvettes and are not necessarily enthusiasts are moving cars that have the "stature" that the...
Going the wrong way
I just read an article reporting that GM is raising the prices on 2003 models for the 6th time.
A fully loaded 50th anniv. vert costs $57,575.00 when I go to the "build your own" link on the GM site. I didn't even opt for the Z51 suspension.
I don't think that this is...
I think that they're playing a dangerous game if they raise prices too much more. Currently, Corvette always scores well with "value per dollar" tests. Now, though, lots of cars are coming out with lots of horsepower and not lots of cost. I think those cars will fill the F-body void. Mustang...
Nice summary
Seems like we can talk about C6 here. Nice.
IMHO you're right on, as usual, here Rob. Don't forget the interior, though. From what I understand, the interior is supposed to be outstanding on this thing.
That's one of the things that have been overlooked by many enthusiasts. We...
Yeah, I bet the C6, when made, will be around for more than a couple of years. If I remember right, though, the XLR is the one that will be changing in the relatively near future because of better ways to make the body panels for that thing. I'll find it somewhere...
