    1996 Collector

That's the thing that kills me about the dealer... No documentation is with the car except for a couple of handwritten notes of oil changes in 2000. It's not at a corvette retailer, rather on the pre-owned section of a chevy dealer. Not a single person there has any of what I would consider...

    1996 Collector

The car is an LT-4 in excellent condition. It is a coupe with the glass top, Z51 suspension and a gray/silver interior. Thanks for the reply Greg

    1996 Collector

The best that I could haggle was $26,000, and that just seems outrageous to me. I could be wrong...

    1996 Collector

Well, I'm finally getting serious on purchase of a car. I found a 1996 Collector Edition today with only 17k miles on it, but the dealer was asking an obscene amount of money for it (at least it feels like it to me). According to the spec sheet here at the CAC, there were 5,412 of the...

    2003 C-5 Engine?

RUMOR ONLY!!! I've read here and at other sites that there is a possibility of a larger displacement, higher horsepower engine scheduled for the C-6. The most popular speculation seems to be that Chevrolet will continue to use the LS-1 block, but increase the displacement to 6.0 liters. Some...

    help with battery and alarm

I'm not sure... Is the alarm factory? I know a little bit about some aftermarket alarms, but I fear that I may not be able to help you with the stock alarm. I've got a GM alarm on an Oldsmobile which is probably similar, and never had the problem you're describing. Things to try (if you...

    Info on the 2003s

Thanks for the info. I guess all of that makes sense, I guess I was hoping for a little more. Nonetheless, the 50th anniversary should make an outstanding car. -Greg

    The Tank is back!

ZL-1 That's an awesome site. I was browsing through it and got onto the Famous Vettes page and saw the pix of the 2 ZL-1's. I know that the yellow one is down in Florida at Roger's Corvette Center. Where is the white one? Do either of them have the original engines in them still? I heard...

    Fast Time Engines

I highly recommend the BBB as above, if you're unsure of the company that you're buying the engine from. FYI, I put a Summitt Racing engine in a 1970 Nova SS and had great luck with it. It was a 383 Stroker as well. I'm not sure of all of the specifics, because the engine had 7500 miles on it...

    smoke

I have used baking soda, and it works pretty well. Don't forget to vacuum the carpets aggressively (several times). Clean the rest of your car (windows, seats, panels, etc.) with your favorite cleaner. Sometimes it helps to leave it outside on a humid, somewhat windy day (and clean it again...

    I finally got one...

Beautiful C4. Looks great from head to toe. Have fun. :) -Greg

Lots of folks out there bashing the C4...what gives?

resale The resale on a Corvette is outstanding, as outlined above. Right now, you and I are on the wrong end of that!!! Looking at other cars, it seems like most of them lose about half of their value in 3 years or less, wheras Corvettes are going for about 6 years before depreciating to .5...

My new Idea! Post your opinion

Red- That interior looks really nice. I hope to have something as cool as that someday. I'm kinda into cameras and really like just about any of the Nikon Coolpix and the majority of the Olympus cameras. For just point-and-shoot application I would try to find one of those on the internet...

    LT4 LT1,LT4,LS1,LS6.... Whats the difference?

The LS-1 was first placed in the F-Body cars in 1998, with gradual increases in horsepower since then. The L-98 is considered a 1st generation small block. The first ground-up re-design from Ed Cole's original small block was the LT-1 (not the LT1 from the early seventies) in 1992. Hope this...
