I found the wire. It is under the steering column and dark blue. My gauge is working now, but it twitches a bit. Should it be a gradual increase or decrease when you rev the engine or should it jump? At idle its staying around 30ish psi.
What's the 2nd wire on the plug for then? grrrrr. Maybe I have the wrong plug still. Does it look correct? Should my oil sending unit have two terminals on it? How can an easy fix always go so wrong. lol
I think I found the wire. It's under the shaft for the steering wheel. There are actually 2 wires going to it. A white and a black. I'm guessing white are for cars with a dumby light. The gauge isn't moving though. I'll post a pic of the plug. I have 2 spare oil gauges. Is there a way to test...
I bought a new engine harness from corvette America (or central) can't remember. I had a local shop hook it up and everything is running great. The previous owner took out the oil sending unit and put a crappy sunpro mechanical gauge in the car. I'm attempting to put it back to stock, but I ran...
Figured out what the problem was. Tire blew out on the way to work today. Too bad it couldn't have lasted until tomorrow. I planned on changing the darn things out this weekend.
I'm not quite sure how to describe this. It's as though the car shimmy's back and forth. The car also pulls to the right pretty bad. When coming to stops I also hear a popping sound. I can't figure out if the sound is coming from the front or rear. I can feel the pop in my drivers seat...
I figured out where the tank goes. I also upgraded my radiator cap to a 16 psi. We'll see how she runs now I guess. The old cap may have been worn out.
Does anyone happen to have any pictures of where the coolant overflow tank mounts on the 74. I got the tank from corvette central for a 74. I can't seem to find any holes where it used to be mounted and it doesn't set flush against the side of the engine bay.

I attempted to install the coolant recovery tank today; I received it yesterday. The tank doesn't appear to fit on the fender anywhere. It's molded in the wrong way it appears. I'm assuming it goes on the front passenger side fender by the radiator. Any suggestions? The tank is for a 74 and came...
It has a thermostat on it. I took it out when the car used to puke out antifreeze, thinking it was stuck. Could it be stuck open? If so that could be an easy fix. The previous owner had also installed a "larger radiator". I'm not sure if it really is (I never saw the old one). He also said...
Well I finally replaced my u joints on the front shaft and the drivers side half shaft. The front shaft went fine. The driver side half shaft was hell though. The side side that connects to the wheel gave me tons of problems. It was stuck in there and wouldn't come out. I ended up bending...
Well I've started having an issue again that I thought was resolved. When the radiator was changed out, the previous owner didn't put a overflow tank in it. I bought an aluminum canister off ebay that looked rather nice. However, the canister is overflowing and puking antifreeze out on the...
As far as I know it's a stock fuel pump. I don't have a quadrajet though. It's been switched out for an edelbrock 650 performer. Does this make a difference?
Hey everyone. I've tried to do some research on this and I just wanted to get everyone's opinion. When I first start my car the temp is fine. In fact I can leave it run and it doesn't overheat. While driving on the highway, the temp stays between 160 and the second line on the gauge. After...
You were right JohnZ. I changed out the master cylinder and bled the brakes again. Brakes are working perfectly now. I was able to take it to the electrician yesterday. $250 to wire everything from the firewall up. He had it done in two days. I was very satisfied with his work. I bought...
Well I got a chance to tear into the brakes yesterday. We inspected all of the lines and couldn't find any breaks in them or leaking fluid. Actuall, the line going to the back right caliper was a new line. :thumb We went ahead and bled all four break lines to make sure there was no air in the...
Hopefully the roter isn't cut into. I didn't have any problems last fall when I parked it, so hopefully, whatever broke, happened in the drive way. I didn't even think about the brake light. It comes on when I pull the ebrake, but it isn't lit up right now.
