How often do you change your brake fluid

I had the same experience. I just changed the fluid in my 99 FRC and that has 127k miles on it. It was some seriously foul fluid. For HPDE events the fluid needs to be changed regularly and no longer than 90 days before an event. The fluid change will need to be done again since there was no...

    Adding an OEM CD Changer

My changer is located along the back wall in the large center storage area. I'm not sure that all cars were prewired for a changer and I'd be surprised if they were. Leon

    Body ride height question?

What? Is this after the dealer work you just had completed where they replaced the front spring? Something isn't adding up here. You can adjust the ride height on bolts in the suspension. Perhaps they didn't adjust the bolt to the correct height when replacing the spring? Leon

    Composite Springs useful life?

Which dealership did this work? Where are you located in SE PA? Perhaps a change of dealers is in order. Send me a PM if you don't want to broadcast that info. Leon

    Composite Springs useful life?

My car has 127k miles on it and the springs have never been replaced. I'm with wishuwerhere82, there needs to be some failure analysis done to determine the cause of failure. The front spring on an '03 with only 11k miles should not need to be replaced at this point. How did the dealership...

So...how many of us take our Vetts out if it is raining?

10,000 feet above sea level? You're practically starving your poor Corvette for air! What kind of a monster are you?!? ;) Yes, I drive it in the rain. In fact, the first day and half of my high performance driving education classes were in the rain at Summit Raceway. How unnerving is...

    Reputable Dealer

Randy, check with the local Corvette club in your area. They all get their Corvette serviced and they would know the best guy to go to. I did the same thing when I moved from FL to Philadelphia. If you don't mind a drive to Melbourne, I can hook you up with a good Corvette specialist but I'm...

    I've Found My New Addiction...

My first session my instructor drove my car around the track to show the line, etc. I wouldn't say he was at 70%, more like 50-60%, nice and smooth. He only did this for two laps and then we swapped sides and let me learn the line and then I pushed farther and farther at each consecutive...

    I've Found My New Addiction...

And it's High Performance Driver Education. I went to my first event with the local Porsche club this past weekend at Summit Point, and OMG! what a great time! It was so much fun really putting the car through its paces on a race track and taking the car to the limit. What I found was that...

Retrofit Traction Control with Active Handling?

Found an old response from Paul. http://corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62576 Doesn't look cheap or easy to do. :(

    Z06 Sway Bars?

Would the Z06 sway bars be much of an upgrade from the stock Z51 sway bars on my FRC? I'm also looking at some Bilstein sport shocks on the car as well to improve handling. Any suggestions?

Retrofit Traction Control with Active Handling?

I'm preparing for my first track event and there are a couple options that I wish my FRC had to help with this, Active Handling and the HUD. I know the HUD can be fitted into the FRC. Even though I have an early model 99 car and it will be a little more involved due to the changing of the...

    Helmet for track event

I'm looking at doing a track event with the local Porsche club at Summit Point race track in a few weeks and need to get a helmet. Can someone point me to a site that has decent pricing on helmets and any recommendations on helmet type? The helmet needs to be Snell 2000 or better. Thanks.

    C5's In The Snow

First year that I get to participate in the NE "No Vette In The Snow" ritual. ;) Well, not entirely true, I drove up here in February last year and the car actually saw some snow during the drive up. Philadelphia doesn't get near the snow that New England does, but there will be a few months...

    C5 or C4?????

Having owned both (95 Vert) I know I wanted a C5 when I originally started looking and settled for a C4. Now that I have the C5 I will never own a C4 again with the improvements in power, handling and refinement. I'm sure you want to buy the car to drive so don't worry about it being an...

2009 ZR1 Video by Fast Lane Daily

Based on this picture from an old thread here, they are covering up the side fenders because they are different from the current C6/Z06. Can't wait to see this car when it's finally unveiled. Leon

Apple Mac mini in a C5

The mini doesn't have a thermal diode in the case to measure case temp? I know many motherboards do this so you can measure system as well as CPU temps. Are you saying the install in the link is your car? I'd be very interested in what you plan to do to finish the bezel. I really like what...

Apple Mac mini in a C5

All good points. While the hard drive replacement is easy to do and the parts cost is low, there's the time to rebuild the OS and programs and scripts that will make up the final product. Just make sure those back ups are up to date. ;) Heat is another valid concern. I'm not sure where a...

Apple Mac mini in a C5

Very cool. My only concern with something like that would be hard drive life. If the mini uses a typical hard drive with platters then it would likely fail in a relatively short period of time. If it's flash based that would rock, yet would make the mini more expensive. Show us some pics...
