I have not secured a room for Corvette Carlisle. I plan on driving the back roads (non express ways) from Western NY and would like to stay North of Carlisle. I hope to make this more of a pleasure trip (will not be shopping for the numerous restoration parts that I have done over the past five...
Not when you own a 63! This has been the must frustrating restoration of all. Just when I solve one problem another problem pops up. I now have a temperature gauge that does not work and I noticed a vibration coming from the rear of the car at about 50-60 miles an hour. The 63 sure puts the...
WoW! Herb
What progress you are making; you must be working in hyper drive. Your shop looks a nice place to work and spend time. That always helps with this type of project, a comfortable work environment.
Good luck with the rest of your project.

Hi! John
It sure makes the restoration process easier when you and others take the time to answer all the restoration and repair questions that we armature restores ask.
Hi! Rob
We will fire up the BBQ any time you and others are in the area. The sign is an original advertising sign from a...
What type of engine? There are tapped bolt holes in the block and brackets that bolt to the rear holes on the intake. I sure with a little creativity it could be adapted.

The barn and the doors are new(five years for the first section and second year for the addition). I have been collecting old strap hinges for years. I sort of mess up in the paint department so I can be told "Let me do it you are too messy"

Hi! Barry
My daughters live in Frederick Md. I hope to start looking for some retirement property with in the next few years. My wife and I went to the 50th Corvette Anniversary in Nashville and really enjoyed the people and the area. I think we are going to look in that area first.
Hi...
Thanks for all the compliments!
Barry: I hope to be retiring with in the next few years and our intent is to move your way. We have two daughters that live in Maryland. You buy the shop and I will work CHEAP!
Gary: I am not sure what car we will be taking down to Carlisle. I still need to...
Hi! Collin
The weather here is been lousy as best, so I only drove the 63 a couple miles and really do not have a good feel for it yet. I had to trailer it to the inspection station today, we had severe thunder storms and even had a tornado touch down in the general area. I do like the 340HP...
Hi! Rob
The ignition was in the off. I had the same problem with the 61 270HP with dual points. GM used the lower OHM resistor with the high performance engines and these engines were prone to burning points. The coil and resistor were to be matched. I am currently using a Blue Streak coil and...
Took the 63 out for a short test drive this evening after 1 1/2 years of restoration. Everything went well for the first drive, but it would not start after setting for about 1/2 hour. I believe that I burnt the points. I am using an original .3-OHM Delco resistor. I had the same problem with...
I have a couple set that are made of aluminum and have a magnetic strip to hold them to the jaws of the vise. They also have rubber on the side that you clamp to the part. You should be able to get them at a good parts store.

The carpet was glued. I pulled up what I could, soaked the balance of the carpet with weather strip solvent and then Simple Green full strength. I used a sharpened putty knife to help remove the glue after soaking.

Hi! Collin
Sorry! to here about the problems you had, but it seems like you turned a negative experience into a positive one. This should be an inspiration to anyone who is nervous about having their car judged.
I wish you the best of luck with the next judging process and I am sure you...
