New April 07 Hot Rod magazine came yesterday. As I was paging thru. Pages 92-3 What is this in background?? a C-4 Callaway areobody on lift in primer :cool San Fernando Valley Ca. I gather this is a high end shop?? Nelson's Supercars!! Anybody out there know about this car?? :confused :w Ike
This is not the first I've seen this information. Not a real surprise after seeing in person and watching TV auctions! ;squint: I follow markets closely and the last few years B-J prices were pretty far outside the curve on some cars. Time will tell but as always there are only so many...
Well close.:rotfl Feb 86 Road & Track This car ran TRC at 200MPH with professional driver! :upthumbs I now remember why I had magazine. Cover was 1986 Vette vs 1968 L-88! It was obvious times were a changing just like today!! :cool
Chris: That car was in one of magazines in middle 80's with some road testing and general specs! I think it might have been Car & Driver but not positive! I always remembered car 1st because of Turbo's and secondly because you almost never seen these cars in blue without two-tone colors Which...
Have a long time shop owner friend that paints cars for a Ferrari Team that races at LeMans. When I was at shop the other day he was showing me the Hyper Black and how impressed he was with it. Intends to do a car in that color. He has the House of Colors simulation software for showing...
Was looking at a friends 65 convertible recently. This car has a complete 427-435 code JE tri-power motor in it. It came from either 1967 Vin # 194377104931 or 194677104931 depending if it was a coupe or convert. Has checked and car is not currently registered in Michigan. Motor would sure help...
No Callaway :cry would mostly mean that I would have searched harder for a Lingenfelter ZR-1 They are still on my radar screen but the new Callaways are really gaining momentum with me! :upthumbs
Of all the sports and muscle cars I've owned the 68 L-88 Corvette was by far the most memorable!! Had a chance to run it at Grattan road race course here in West Michigan. First corner made me very thankful for the required HD brake package!! :bu:lou
Wishing a Great holiday blessing for all my friends here on the Callaway forum. Hope all have a great time with family and friends! Sure hope to meet more of you in the upcoming year! :upthumbs Ike
A big thanks Luigi!!!:upthumbs Do you guys know schedule for this car? I would like to see it in person if it comes to any of big shows near me, Detroit or Chicago? The C-16 is sure to become an object of great desire for many! As usual it looks to be a well sorted Supercar! :_rock Ike
Welcome Gaymond & Congrats on the Callaway!! I thought about looking at that car but the $$$$$ and distance slowed me up. LOL Like Hawaii was closer! Great looking car Enjoy! Ike
Congrats Jon!! You are a very fortunate individual to have one of the very desirable Callaway Speedsters. I've always enjoyed seeing these cars and hope to soon hear more about this one! :) Here's to your future enjoyment of the new ride. If you truly think You got took on no top I'm sure I can...
Plan to make Carlisle this year! :D Bloominton Gold is pretty close for me, so if some of the Callaways are there I will probably go. Haven't been to Bowling Green in many years but if possible may go. Hoping all this attention will draw out some cars that haven't been seen in awhile! Would...
:) Thanks Guys! Had a great day. Nothing Callaway but got the door on my new garage which is now finished outside! Soon as I get the inside done will bring #59 home and get going on restoration. :upthumbs:beer Ike
I agree that C-4's are a challenge to keep up to snuff compared to a C-2/C-3 but the drive still makes it worth it :D When it gets to be too much I'll have to decide between C-2/C-3 or a newer model Vette! Can't imagine not having one! Bought first one in 1969!!:w
