    Radio theft-deter disabling procedure...SNAG

Yes, everybody, the red light does flash when the radio enters "LOC" mode. I really do believe the multi-step method works, if I could just get past that AM/FM step and get the final three numbers. Of course the dealer told me they could resolve it; just trying to save 48 bucks. And if you're...

    Radio theft-deter disabling procedure...SNAG

Sorry it took so long to respond to these replies... Here's the problem I have-- I bought the C5 from another owner (off ebay, actually) and had it shipped to my house. He never gave me the pin for the radio in case of power loss probably because he never had to use it (and therefore probably...

    Radio theft-deter disabling procedure...SNAG

I recently pulled up from a CAC search a somewhat lengthy but supposedly effective way to disable the radio theft-deterrent feature, so I can reset it with a new pin. My 2000 had a new battery installed. The previous owner never supplied me with the code. Now I just get a "LOC" message. So, I...

What should I know before pulling rear calipers?

Recently, I learned the wife drove our '01 coupe for a few days with the Emergency Brake on! Now, I'd like to take off the rear calipers and do some inspecting. Is there anything I should know about dismantling rear calipers on a C5, or is it no different than most other cars? Thanks for any help!

    Clutch master cylinder

I'm replacing the complete clutch assembly in my 2000 coupe. The mechanic says it's a good idea to install a new clutch hydraulic release slave/actuator as well. He said that if a problem occurs with the slave/actuator (as he's had happen to a customer), then the whole thing would have b torn...

    ABS modulator faulty?

Thanks for the feedback. Disconnecting the plug or just going with GM Parts Direct is a much better option.

    ABS modulator faulty?

A Chevy mechanic told me my ABS modulator is leaking, so I will need a new one...for $1981.00 plus tax! I'm getting a second opinion from an independent, reliable mechanic, of course, but, 1) Does this sound like dealer overkill/gouging? 2) Does that price sound right? 3) Would that be a symptom...

    Search for the Silver C5

1/18 is a little big, but if it's a nice enough model, I'd be willing to consider it.

    Search for the Silver C5

Thanks for the idea. But I might get one on ebay that has everything except the body side molding. I may be able to add that later.

    Garage makeovers

Now that I have my dream car, it's time to upgrade/dress up the cluttered space she stays in. I'm planning to put in a RaceDeck floor, Coleman or Rubbermaid garage cabinets, and maybe wainscoting for the walls. And I'd love to find someone selling a vintage gas pump at a great price. Anyone...

    Reverse gear woes

Being new to manual shifting, I'm slowly but surely starting to get the hang of it. But for some reason, reverse takes forever to find. I know where it's supposed to be, but I keep hitting 5th instead (especially on an incline). Is there a Vette trick I don't know about?

Torch Red, you've summed it all up perfectly. I think A & A has a new customer.

    Bumper savers: Do they work?

Just a crazy question...wouldn't the skid plates sold by Motor Sport Image scrape the ground as well, since they don't have wheels? I'm thinking of situations like mine where you're pulling into a driveway with a modest "curb", rather than a very gradual slope. I'm also wondering if the...

Do you have any info, links, or pics on these skids and/or where to get them?
