I can't remember when the vacuum system on my car has ever worked properly and it's getting to be extremely frustrating. My wiper door pops open when the car is shut off and when I start it it closes, but only after 30 sec or there abouts. I'm thinking it may be related to the wiper door...
Hey Guys/Gals What's Up?
Just finished rebuilding the front suspension on my '72 and came across a rather perplexing problem. After reinstalling the calipers the brakes now go to the floor???? I did not disconnect the calipers from the vehicle, I used a "C" clamp to ease the pistons back into...
I would like to get it apart with little or no damage. I know the torch (my favorite tool) will help but there are things down there that don't like fire. If I were planning to replace it there would be no problem. I am trying to keep the car as original as I possible and really need to find...
I am in the process of rebuilding the front suspenson on my 72 Roadster and am 1 joint (no....not that kind) from having it off the car. I need to seperate the pitman arm from the control valve. I cannot get a pitman arm remover in there because of the design...so the question is, do I beat...
Ok Guy's (and babes ...gotta' be pc) I'm rebuilding the front end on my 72 LT 1. What's the trick in seperating the upper control arm (ball joint) from the spindle? A ball joint seperator tool (picklefork) is not working. The rubber on the ball joint is absorbing all the energy. Don't tell me...
Hurst Competition Plus W/Stock Style Handle REDUCED PRICE!!
Never installed! I had originally bought this for my 72 LT1 but decided to rebuild the original instead. Purchased from Ecklers, I paid $329.99 (PN A5833) for the shifter and 94.99 (PN 26836) for the handle. I'll take $300.00 plus...
Nice lookin' ride, I really like that color blue, what size tires do you have? I was thinking about going to the 255-60-15's which are just about the same diameter as the originals. I would like to go to a tire with a lower aspect ratio but I think I'd have any luck finding any. Maybe I'll...
I have yet to drop it. Right now I am working on the interior and driving it to much to do any suspension work. May be when it gets cooler..I live in Sacramento and it gets quite warm around here during the summer. But when I do I'll post pictures.

I don't know, maybe someone else does...is there anywhere we could get part numbers? I looked in my assembly manual and couldn't even locate the crankshaft balancer, lot of good that publication is.
Thx,
M
If it's of rubber construction why is there such a big price difference between a "standard balancer" ($55.00) and one for a "High Performance" LT-1 ($208.00)?
Could someone let me know if the harmonic balancer on my 72 LT-1 is a billet piece or one of those two part rubber isolated setups? The reason I am asking is that I cannot properly time it. At idle with the advance plugged the timing
appears to be roughly 15 or so degrees ahead of where it...

I finally got hold of a shop manual that has the wiring diagrams. I traced all the wires down on the diagrams and found that to be true. After that, I thought the same thing, bad switch. Thanks for the help.
After searching the board for a thread on this problem, I found nothing that was was close. The parking lights on my '72 will not turn off. I am at a loss as I do not have a wiring diagram. Is this a switch problem? Does the switch operate a relay? Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance...
