(Picture Thread) Show your C4 to the world!

Not So Free, Free Car Ok, my daughter gave me the car as repayment for a loan and I thought, how much fun and how inexpensive this car was. So, since April, I have invested somewhere in the neighborhood of $3000 in it and now look at the difference. I hated the color (no offense intended to...

Headlights, Left Opens But Won't Close Automatically!

You've got a good idea Good idea! I'm going to check that out today. Thanks, again!

Headlights, Left Opens But Won't Close Automatically!

Thanks Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know which of the three relays operates the driver's side headlight? I'm guessing one of the three relays is bad, but I don't want to replace all three if they're good. After reading your notes again, it looks like both doors use the same part...

    New C4 Owner from DE!

New Vette? You WILL Become Addicted! Corvettes become addictive! I've now had three and lamented the sale of my 2002 for several years...you'd think a 12 second Camaro would be a suitable replacement, but no...nothing like a Corvette. So, my daughter gave me my current 84 and wouldn't you think...

Headlights, Left Opens But Won't Close Automatically!

My driver's side headlight wasn't opening and I had been driving with both open using the manual operation mode. I thought the headlight motor had gone bonkers, but found out (after removing it and testing it) that the motor is in great shape. When I put it back in the car, I was amazed that...

Defect to Russia, but Never, Never, Never Replace the Water Pump (84)!

I am convinced it would have been easier to pull the engine than change the water pump on my 84 Vette. You have to dismantle the front of the engine, take the passenger side valve cover off, disconnect fuel lines and wrestle every piece off the car. I broke the aluminum bracket for the AC...

Best Deal Yet - Given to Me By My Daughter Ok, here's a good one for you. My daughter owed me money and who ever thinks their kids will re-pay??? So she called and said, "Dad, would you like to have the Vette as payment?". I said, "Let me think about it for a second...yes!" So I flew to...

Nurburgring - How Many Have Driven It?

Just curious how many of the CAC members have driven The Nordschleife? I was living and working in Italy and drove from Aviano to Nurburg and drove 4 laps on this world famous track. It was an unbelievable experience, but I wish I had known the track as well then as I do now (thanks to...

    C4 RPO Options Listed?????

My daughter is giving me a 1984 C4 Coupe and I am dying to get it in hand and start using it. Having had several Vettes in the past, I know there's a sticky somewhere that tells me what options came on the car when it was built like the RPO code list. That list was found in the glove box of my...

    Question: C4 tune up

1982 Crossfire On the German Autobahn I took my 1982 Crossfire Vette to Germany in 1989 and had an absolute blast with it for 3 years. No, it wouldn't stick with the best Porsches, but it would run with most anything else including the big Mercedes of the time at top end. Since the speedometer...

Next Corvette to Get All-New Small-Block: C7 will Debut with GM's latest V-8

Fuel Mileage I have read that the new Vette base engine would be the 5.5 with direct injection and variable valve timing and most of that to provide improved gas mileage. What happened to LS engines that reduced the mileage in the C6 to only 25-26? My C5 would get near 30 at reasonable highway...

According to Car and Driver - March 2011:

Base C7 Engine 5.5 liters I've read that the base engine will be a new iteration of the LS engine with reduced size to 5.5 liters. The engine will have direct injection and produce 440 HP. I suspect this will be the engine Base Camaros will have in 2012 or 13 to keep pace with the Mustang 5.0...

    Fuel Pressure & Timing

I searched but couldn't find the fuel recommendations on the Cross Fire engine...what is it? Does the computer not control the timing (I'm used to the fully ECU engine control) and is the timing set with timing light as in days of yore? How would you raise the fuel pressure? These are good no...
