No problem at all, just had to dig out the original hood and make a short trip to my brothers.

Well, I thought this was going to be an easy one to answer.
I've got a 68 with a 72 bigblock hood and an original 68 small block hood, my brother has a 69.
I took the latches from my 72 hood and my 68 hood and brought them down to my brothers to compare.
All I can say is they all seem...
If you want a quick easy way to pop the handle back into place carry a tie wrap with you. The ribbed edge should grap the flap and pull it back up.

Some said what you've heard here so far and some that have actually done it including myself said that you can pull the vent ball out through the hole in the dash and replace with the new one by pushing it back through...
