Let'e See Your '78' Pace Car

Howdy Todd, I too took pics with my cell phone. But the res is really poor. I'll make that one of my "Things to Do" over the holidays and that is to get the pics from my camera. I think I took some up at Carlisle. Thanks for the the help on the project:thumb. No way could I have done it by...

Let'e See Your '78' Pace Car

Great info guys. I had considered selling mine once I got finished with the project. But after driving it with the new engine and tranny I'd consider selling the Z before the PC. Really cool car to drive and even cooler since the completion of the project:cool. :wHD

Let'e See Your '78' Pace Car

I was out in Indy for a conference this past November. Of course I had to take a tour of the Indy race track/museum and check out the cars. Much to my disappointment they didn’t have any of the Pace Cars on display. One of the ushers stated that the PCs were in a warehouse and they only bring...

Let'e See Your '78' Pace Car

Oh my Remo...how did I miss this. Here you go. Looking down the throat of a shark Loaded up heading for Carlisle. Sitting next to a sibling. His car's VIN was only 2 digits off from mine. Sitting next to a close friend's HOT C-3 (Twitty). :w HD

    Question: 1978 pace

I hear-ya;). I think I may have talked to you as I was doing my project. The only external difference now are the chrome side pipes and a higher profile hood to hide the setup. Open the hood and you will see this setting under the hood: :w HD

    Question: 1978 pace

May be to the vette purist. I've actually had more $$ offered for mine then when it was stock. No one has offered what I want yet so I've still got her. I do still have the orginal motor (pickled) that is dire need of rebuild. I also have the orginal tranny. Now I can enjoy driving the car...

    Show? Go? Both? or No?

I voted both...but not for both cars. The '78 PC is for show...although with the new setup it would be a blast to take it to the strip to see what she would do. The Z I have shown and have had it on the strip a couple of times. I mostly like crusing. Pop the T-Tops on the '78, or rolling...

    Help! exploding fuel filter

Good read jswope. I am in the middle of R&R my engine and I too have the Performer RPM package. I've do a lot of research on the Edelbrock carbs and you are right in that they don't like a lot of pressure...just plenty of fuel flow. So to feed the hungry horses I went with a Holly Blue elec...

    Elec. Fuel Pump

It would work fine....but the new block doesn't have the punch-out in the block for a mech. fuel pump. The new engine is built on a VorTec block. Thanks :w HD

Ranger, get you a Z. I have an '02 with 26,000 miles on her and I love this car. I also have an '86 and a '78. Each of these cars are different with the Z at the top of the list as far as performance and handling. Of course that is a given with the advancements in technology. To sum it up....I...

News: '78 Corvette replica pace car brought back to Tolbert Chevrolet

Cool story. I'd love to track down the dealer that sold the one I have. Vette magazine did a neat write up about the PCs in either their March or Feb editions. I had given thoughts about selling mine. But who knows, after I get through with it this spring I may not want to sell it. I do...
