I don't put 2000miles a year on mine, Sunday driver only...I think I paid $200 for fire theft over the winter, that's a great price, I think you sold me.
RJSROCKET,
Thanks for the info...soon as the snow melts I think I'm going to give them a call...I thought they only insured "to and from" car show and parades only (must have misunderstood the broker).
Thanks,
EttevroC
There is only about an inch of wire showing with the visors installed, there is a little slack and I cut them in an area were they could easily be spliced back into place without being seen. I taped up the bare end and tucked them back into the cross member.
I have never used my visors, mine were starting to fade and more of a pain in the @$$ then they were worth, you would be surprised the visibility difference...just remember to keep them for resale
No regrets, I put them in a safe place and they take about 1/2 hour to put them back on if required...there is only that small dime size hole that shows, other than that I think it looks clean
I have the same issues...6'3" and 235lbs...no problem fitting into my '87 convertible, but can't see the traffic lights with the top up...I ended up taking the sun visors off and it gives me a couple more inches of visibility.
They call it the “Spring Corvette Expo”. They have it at the Chilhowee Park Fair-Grounds in Knoxville, Tennessee. I have not been in a few years but from all recollection it’s a great show and for us, well worth the 12-hour drive. They do have a web site: www.corvetteexpo.com . I believe...
Woke the horses in the barn!
Though there is about 2 inches of snow yet to melt, and about six weeks of winter left (pending on what rat seen it’s shadow). This being my first winter with the vette, I have never been so excited about summer. This morning I had the uncontrollable itch to pull...
94conv.,
I paid $800ish (Canadian funds) for brakes all around on my 2000 GMC. I was told the cost was so high because GM still held a patent on the parts?? But I agree, snowing a blowing…what’s it worth to you?
I took my car down to a small lakeside community the first day I owned it. I pulled up to a little hotdog stand for a nutritious “missile of death”(don’t tell my wife). There was a young boy no older than 10 sitting with his mother eating lunch at one of the picnic tables close to the parking...
C4 Cruiser,
You know, this is why I subscribe to this web site, I never thought about the rear speakers; the sound system is bad enough that I couldn’t possibly loose two speakers.
Thanks,
Kenney
I have an ’87 convertible and am interested in purchasing a convertible sound-deadening mat for the rear compartment. Does anyone have one? Do they work well and how do they look? I like the idea of keeping articles in the back out of sight.
Polling the masses before I drop $200.
Thanks...
Zapc...I feel your pain, I've got an '87 convertible too...there is no rhyme or reason why the alarm sounds or doesn't...I've chalked it up to the bugs of a 17 year old car's technology….You got a great taste in cars though
Canada vs USA
Bob,
Thanks for the input; I think you are right on…I took the panel over to a buddy of mine in the city. He thought the same thing. I’ll find out in a couple of weeks if the heavy buffing will work.
I appreciate all the suggestions and comments posted to this thread...
Looks like a great club...here is a question what is the difference between the Z51 and the Z52 (I should know...but I don't) and will the 17 inch rims fit on a '87?
I was thinking the same thing but it’s only effects that hinged deck lid. The rest of the deck is great. It must be something in production, as someone else mentioned. I had a friend mention that maybe the previous owner used some kind of cleaner on the rag top and it drained down on top of...
