    1968 windshield wipers

I am a little cautious about just forcing the door open, and I can not find any type of bypass.

    1968 windshield wipers

The wipers are not working, and I know there is a way to bypass the system and open it, but what is it? How can I access my wipers if I can't open with my dash turn on? There is a short piece of curved metal that bends around the corner from the wiper door to the drivers door that I need to...

    Weatherstrip

I am looking for a weatherstrip kit for a 1968 convertable hardtop. I need all 4 pieces for the hardtop, 1 front, 2 sides and 1 rear. I will consider a kit for the entire car if I can find a great price, but I do need the top the most. Thanks Steve

    Starting problems

I will do that this weekend and let you know. What you say makes sense, and I never thought about the oil being washed away. Between your and Jim's answers I have some work to do. I thank both of you,and I'll post my answer this weekend. Thanks again.

    Starting problems

I can't say that I completely understand everything you said, but I do understand some. Would the condition as you state cause a fuel smell in the garage when I park the car? I know enough about carbs to adjust them a little, but thats all. Would you think it is rebuild time for that center...

    Starting problems

I am stumped by this one. I have a 1968 427/400 (tri-power) that is perfect in every way but one, and that is starting. I usually drive it about every two weeks, and when I first get in I pump the gas twice and it starts immediately. If I drive for a while and make a short stop, like for gas, it...

    Question: Gaskets

Thanks. I believe the rockers are stock, but maybe I'll put on a thicker gasket just to be safe. I expect I will need the gasket material and cut my own?

    Question: Gaskets

I am replacing the valve cover gaskets on my 68 424/400 and was very suprised to see that when I pulled the covers the old gaskets were about 3/8 thick neopreme. I have never seen gaskets that thick, and was wondering if that is normal. I have not been up to buy the new gaskets yet, but I can't...

I know what you mean, but there must be other corvette shops in so Cal that I don't know about. I won't go to "Joes Garage."

    Corvette service

I need to have the windshield wipers repaired on my 68 big block. I live in Orange County, California, and I am looking for a reasonable repair shop in the general area. Corvette Mike's is way too expensive for me. Anyone have any shops they could recommend locally? Thanks Steve 1968...

    Rear main seal

Can I change the rear main seal on a 1968 427 through the oil pan, or do I need to drop the tranny? Thanks Styeve
