    hei on a '64

MSD makes a distributor with Corvette tach drive. Part no. 8572. Not exactly an HEI because you have to use a 6A or 6A-L box with it. Also much more expensive than the typical HEI. Distributor is $350 and 6A box is $185 at Summit. I've been running this setup on my 63 with good results.

    Thinking of buying a C5

You will like the FRC. I bought my 99 about two months ago for the same reasons. Also, you don't see that many of them around. Chris

Loctite - Red or Blue ???

Red is almost impossible to remove without heat. Previous owner put red on the ignition shielding wingbolts on my 63. :mad I have no idea why. I destroyed four of them getting them off. Chris

C1 ignition and other switch removal?

What if you don't have the key? I'm working on a '63, which has two holes for the paper clip. Which hole does the paper clip go into, both? Chris

'63 SWC outer stainless rear window trim question

I am missing one of the pieces of stainless outer rear window trim for my SWC. It is the one at the bottom of the window looking from behind the car. Can this be made by cutting down a bottom piece from a '64-'67? Is the cross-section of the trim the same? Thanks for any info. Chris

Is the lower stainless windshield trim the same for 1963 coupe and convertible? I don't see it in any parts catalogs. Is it not available reproduction? Thanks, Chris

    Drug home a new project

Thank you! Yes, the shop is pretty full, but I couldn't pass this one up. I'm finishing a '34 Ford coupe hot rod before I finish up the '63. Chris

    Drug home a new project

Thanks, guys. It's the fluorescent shop lighting and my cheapo camera. It's really Riverside Red. Plans are to pull the numbers matching motor and trans and stash them in a corner of the shop. I'll replace that with a ~500 bhp 383 and a 5 speed conversion so I can actually cruise the freeway...

    Drug home a new project

'63 Split Window coupe. I'm more of a hot rodder than a 'Vette guy, although I had a '65 coupe for a couple of years. I'll try not to ask too many dumb questions! I've already learned a lot reading this board. Good stuff. Chris

Hooker side exhaust and Rocker panels

Did both of your cars have factory side exhaust? I am working on a deal on a '63 coupe and if I end up with the car, I am considering the Hooker side exhaust. However, I refuse to cut the body. I will only do the side pipes if I can put it back to stock. I thought I read somewhere that the...
