Do You Drive Your Corvette In The Snow?

I drive in the snow... Blizzaks all the way around helps! Let me know if you need to know what size to run on the rears... All weathers are ok but the Blizzaks make for good driving when it does snow.

    gas prices

Marathon is easy to find in my area and I run their 93 octane. Marathon's "other" brand is Speedway but is only available at 92 octane for their premium. 89 octane is good for the highways for long trips - 300 miles or more - but I haven't tried any regular, ever. Techron as someone else...

    Question: Running Lights

Check the top of the lens assembly. The bulbs run hot and will actually burn a hole through the top over time. Pulling the lens assembly out isn't fun but will be necessary to fix this issue. I replaced both at the same time and don't expect to replace them again for another 8 years. Some...

    Help! TPMS Sensor

I got the TPMS's at the local Chevy dealer. Average battery life is reportedly 5 years so plan on getting them all replaced soon.

Question: How do I turn off twighlight sentinal?

The reset button works correctly. I have been clearing low tire pressure warnings since it's been getting cooler out recently. The reset also worked through other options but not on twighlight sentinal yesterday.

Question: How do I turn off twighlight sentinal?

Quite sure it was delivered in USA - had the VIN run at the Chevy Dealer near me and he asked if I was the original owner by addressing me by that person's name... Why won't the reset button work? Does the car have to be running or off? Does the light sensor have to be in a bright area to make...

Question: How do I turn off twighlight sentinal?

I've heard that too but this is an American 'vette.

Question: How do I turn off twighlight sentinal?

Thanks but I can't get the reset button to switch the twighlight sentinal off as shown on page 2-99 of the owners manual. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/c5/2001/2001corvette.pdf The reset button works for the other options but not this one. Any other suggestions?

Question: How do I turn off twighlight sentinal?

I can't find out how to turn off the twighlight sentinal on my '01. I went through the Options but there isn't an obvious way to turn it off. It was off when I got the car but was somehow turned on after the third fix for the steering lock security fix. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

    Help! Tire pressure

Are you guys racking up the miles or just driving occasionaly? What tires are you running and how many miles per year do you drive your vette? How is the tread wearing at 30 psi?

    Help! Tire pressure

Rick, I am experimenting with tire pressures right now. I'm running Kumho ASX's and at 28 psi cold, the pressure goes up to 32 psi after several miles. The center of the tread on the rear tires is wearing while the outside edges are less worn. This indicates that there is too much pressure. I...

    Question: High Milage C5

No major issues with my '01. It came with 27k miles on it 2 years ago and I've spun the odometer up to 87k. I had some sensor issues early on in 2007 but after that, the only significant issue I have is the C1214 code that I'm working on correcting now (EBCM). Rear tires have lasted about 30k...

Driving That C5 In The Snow?

We're helping you out with your resale value... Remo, please get busy with marketing the "economic stimulus" plan Patrick and I are developing. I would be happy with a $0.25 donation from each C5 owner for this service. production numbers for C5's: 1997 - 9,752 1998 - 31,084 1999 - 33,270 2000...

Driving That C5 In The Snow?

Running in the snow isn't bad if you remember what you are driving on and don't get on it... Last winter, I parked the vette for 12 days because of weather (snow days). So far this winter, the vette has sat in the garage for 14 bad weather days, again, snow days. I understand that some don't...

    Question: Kumho Tires

Junk is on to something. I got 50k miles out of the fronts but only 30k miles out of the rears with the Kumho ASX's on my C5. The fronts could have gone another 10k but I needed some light snow turning capability the past few months... I have NO idea why the rear tires didn't last longer (spin...

What did the C5 get for Christmas?

Mine got new Kumho ASX's for the front, the CAGS 6 Speed Skip Shift Bypass, hood seal and another tank of gas. (I shouldn't mention the gas because that happens at least twice a week.)

What tires are you running and why?

The car came with Kumho ASX's when I bought it and worked well for all weather conditions - sun, rain, moon light, and snow. I bought new rear tires in June and front tires last week. For some strange reason, I got 30K miles on the rear and 50K miles on the front with Kumho ASX's... The only...
