rgtrough beat me to it..... I also installed an HEI with the mechanical tach drive and it works great. Much better than points. I just keep an extra HEI rotor in the car.
Every winter I put a few bars of Irish Spring soap in the car. I take the bars and shave them up into pieces and put them into trays. That keeps the mice away for me.
I had the exact same issue because I also have an edelbrock carb and intake but I have the original motor. My gas pedal was almost to the floor and all four barrells would barely kick in when it was matted to the floor. My mechanic had to do some MacGuyering to make it work. I'll ask him...
The chances of getting caught are very slim. I've never really been scared of being caught since I drive to work before 8am and leave after 5pm and my only other Vette driving times are on sunny weekends.
The government works banker's hours at best but after this summer with them working on...
My mechanic was mentioning about adjusting the steering box but I thought it was only on the 1960's GM boxes that it could be done.
Thanks.... I'll start there since it would be the cheapest route!!!!
Hi BobRBob,
Yes any pre 1988 does not need e-testing. These laws have nothing to do with Ontario's Drive Clean. There has been a law since 1974 or so (as we were told) that basically says that the vehicle has to have the emissions control system it was originally equipped with — or replaced...
A few years ago our Canadian Goverment declared they were getting tough on crime. Apparently the biggest criminals out there are classic car owners who remove PCV valves and EGRs or Cats from their cars. We are such big criminals that they even have their "Enviro-Cops" parked outside of cruise...
A few years ago I posted about gas boiling out of the carb but I know that isn't the problem. Since then after fixing alot of bugs in the motor she is now the monster she should be.
Here is what I encounter now. When the motor is cold it fires right up no problems. After the motor is hot and I...
After alot of work the last two years I am finally able to drive the Vette again only to put it away for the winter. Some of the stuff I did was replacing front springs and shocks as well as a new power stering cylinder and lines. I got a few drives in and I know I need an alignment. I'm not...
I know it's a little off topic but here is an article about Carfax. I wouldn't rely on what Carfax reports. It's still buyer beware out there.
Carfax doesn't always offer all the facts: Marketplace investigation
I was going through my old pics and found this one my Mom sent to me years ago. It happened right outside of where she works. The sign in the background is kind of ironic.
The story was the guy was weaving in and out of traffic and just lost control, or so I was told.
It looks to me like that...

Thanks for the compliments. Believe it or not I'm not used to them. I have found that there are a lot of jealous people out there.
That being said I'm not too happy right now. I wanted to go for a drive after work today and as I'm backing out of the garage I realize I've got no brakes. I just...
I purchased Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T 's this spring because I couldn't get the BFG Radial T/A 's in the sizes I needed. I'm glad I got them! They look nicer than the BFG's. They look like they have a more aggressive tread pattern. Not sure how they handle though since I'm just finishing up...
Hello Dom,
If I had to choose between the three cars I would go for the 72 Convertible without hesitation even at the much higher price. That car has it all... convertible, big block, A/C, hardtop, last year of the chrome front and rear bumpers. Another plus for it is that it's been restored and...
