Thanks minifridge1138. The vettes been down for close to a year now. Blew the motor. Had it rebuilt which took a long time. So I just got it running. Putting it back together has been very frustrating to say the lease. Bolts that suppose to thread easy don't. Putting on motor mounts that just...

    Question: RUNNING TOO COOL

Bolisk, Like you said about a simple question and long response and what Evolution 1980 said is right. It's not too long if it's correct. You don't know how long I've been waiting for someone to answer the question on the right thermostat and wire end. Sometimes when I ask a bunch of question...

    Help! Adjusting Headlight Washers

Hey Bolisk, I have a 69 that I believe has the headlight washer. Is it possible to give me a rundown as to what parts are needed or suppose to be there to make this operational? Was this an option or did all vettes come with it? Where the headllights are, I see a round plug that plugs to I...

    Question: RUNNING TOO COOL

I've heard the same thing about the wear or the longivity of the motor if the temp is too low. That's one of the reason for trying to bring the temp up. So Bolisk, what does your wire end look like? The one that connects to the rod type sender. Can the temperature wire lead fit both the thumb...

    Question: RUNNING TOO COOL

Update: I went out and bought a mechanical temp gauge and hooked it up on the passenger side head. First, I need to clarify the reading on the stock 69 gauge. On the stock gauge, my needle is between the 100 an the first hash mark when it's warmed up. I've been trying to get someone to tell me...

Question: Sponge/foam found on top of Transmission Bellhousing?

I have a 69 vert with a 5sp. There is a tunnel foam insulation that sits between the top of the bellhousing and the tunnel. It's to keep the heat from going to the transmission and shifter. If yours is a stick, that's what it is. If an auto. should serve the same purpose I believe. Tony

Hey Jonh, Just went down and did what you said. The neddle was to the far right and when I grounded it the neddle went to the far right. So the sending unit is bad based on the test right. Question: RUNNING TOO COOL

Hi, I have a question to ask. I just got my rebuilt motor in the vett and running. It's been close to a year since it's been down. The problem I'm having is that the motor runs cool. Around 150 degrees. I changed the thermostat twice. ( 180 ) and it's the same. On my stock gauge the neddle is in...
