any of you restored your c3 doors

Sorry for the late response, been on the road.....you can buy the rollers and spring seperatly. I think ecklers has a roller refit kit as I am sure do most of the corvette part suppliers.

any of you restored your c3 doors

Not sure if this will help but I used it as reference when I rebuilt my doors.....engine.........., brakes..............., etc ................well actually the whole car. Usually if the window drops out of the bottom the coil spring on the regulator is either broken or has jumped outof the slot.

    Engine Tick...

Many times a ticking sound turns out to be an exhaust leak. Check the header/exhaust manifold bolts and gaskets.

Help! Need help with engine upgrades for my 1975 L-48

To be honest, my engine isn't anything special. There are guys on here making much more power. I just couldn't think of a reason NOT to stroke it when I was doing the rebuild. Gobs more torque and easy making HP. I have an 80 with at least two weak points in my drive train, the TH350...

Help! Need help with engine upgrades for my 1975 L-48

After mulling over this question myself, I decided on stroking my L82. Target was 400/400 motor as to not have to totally upgrade my drive train with the exception of solid u joints. My rational was that i could build a 383 stroker for the same price of modifying my 350 and could build a much...

Question: 82 Vette -- Oil Leak from under Right Dash

Not sure how it would leak oil, but nothing else makes sense so you might want to pull off the kick pannel on that side and see if it is leaking through the windshield wiper valley drains on each side. Before I unclogged and resealed mine I had water leaking into the cockpit. Couldnt figure...

    Question: Fluid for aluminum radiator?

Definitely use only DISTILLED water in an aluminum radiator. I use a 60/40 mix of distilled water and Zerex GO-5 along with a sacrificial anode for corrosion. At $6 the anode is a cheap insurance policy not only for the radiator but for aluminum heads and water pumps.

    Altinator Wire

Looking at a 81 wire diagram and it looks like both the red and the red/black or red wires go through a fuseable link directly to the starter selenod directly back to the battery. If its not getting power its probably the fusable link, which needs to be replaced. Check to make sure that there...

    Question: Break-In?

I was concerned with coolant on my engine rebuild start up and having air pockets in a dry block. What i did was, filled through the thermostat housing opening in the intake manifold untill it was topped off, installed the thermostat housing cover, rad hose, and then filled the rest of the...

    Help removing header bolts

Spray the bolts with penetrating oil, ie PB Blaster overnight before you try to remove them. If they are original bolts and due to rust and age the head rounds off then I used a set of craftsman bolt extractor sockets (looks like a socket but has knife edge griping surface to remove the stuborn...

    Help! Water Pump Pulley Problem

Although grinding the pump will fix the rubbing, if the disk if futher back than the original, will the pulley line up?. Seems like a spacer made of thin metal sheeting between the disk and the pulley is a more viaible answer.

    WOW! Big performance gain!!!

I am intrested in installing the roller rockers on my 80 L82. Will these rockers fit under the stock L82 Valve covers? They are the aluminum finned ones, which if I remember correctly are not a "boxy" as the L48 stamped ones. Thanks in advance for any input. BTW I am new to the forum...

    Leaky driver door window

I have been trying to isolate a leak on the driver side window of my 80 vette. replaced the outside rubber but when it rains water finds its way inside the door, between the inside door pannel and down into the floorpan, sometimes enough to leave 1/2" of water. I have tried to seal the window...
