If it has the original injectors then they will need to be replaced at some point. Some say it's the ethanol in the gas these days, but whatever it is they will die.
There is a simple ohm check you can do. Unplug them and check the resistance across the two pins on the injector. I think...
Check out www.zr1.net
It will need new fuel injectors (16) if it doesn't already have them. Check if the adjustable shocks work, they can be overhauled by bilsten now at reasonable prices. The website above has lots of info.
A stock LT-4 and stock ZR-1 are pretty similar in performance...
I would say that if it's going to be a daily driver get the newest stock C5 you can, but if it's going to be a toy car then get the LT-4 or concider a ZR-1.
Cheers,
Scott
It will dramatically increase the pollution your car produces for a small gain in power. I think you'd be better off replaceing it with a modern high flow cat. They are not that expensive.

I'd just sell it and buy a newer one. You might want to look at doing an LS-1 swap with one of the cheap truck versions from a junkyeard. I've seen articles showing you can do it pretty cheap, but still 1000s.
Cheers,
Scott
I'd recommend getting on www.zr1.net and looking at all the info they have. I want to have a ZR-1 at some point, but it seems to be a car you need to be pretty familar with before you buy so you know what your getting.
Clutch can be expensive. Corvettes of that era came with a special...
Get the stainless ones and have them ceramic coated. I just had the exhaust for my airplane made and it's 321 stainless and ceramic coated. There should be shops locally that can do ceramic coating. It's probably a couple hundred, maybe a bit less, to ceramic coat everything. Have them do...
I'd say if you don't understand why something is there then put it back together the way the factory did. If you understand why it's there and can make an educated descision to not use it then that's different.
Cheers,
Scott
I'm not sure if it works this way in Florida, but in California you have the right to choose the shop that does the work. The insurance companies' don't tell you that and usually try to steer you toward 'their' shops.
I bet you're right that the dealer is lowballing them. They want to get the...
The 89 I used to have stalled sometimes. Turned out to be the two relays behind the battery to do with the MAF burnoff system. The injectors start a slow death as soon as ethanol hits them. A couple bad injectors could cause your problem.
Have you checked for codes?
Scott
Pulling the throttle body and cleaning it and the IAC is something that should be done just for general maintenance. If the IAC is really gummed up it can't move to control the idle very well.
It's amazing the eninge is running if one whole side of the engine is cold. Let us know what the...
Sounds like the alternator died. New alternator and battery. It sounds like you have more of a problem than that. If the battery is so low that the engine stalls, then it shouldn't have enough power left to turn the engine over.
My first thought is fuel injectors. If they are original...
Ecklers and Mid America are two big corvette parts places.
I would restore the parking brake. If you park the car on a hill it will be difficult to get the transmission out of park since the weight of the car is resting on the gear. After watching that video from the post above, I'd just...
I replaced the stereo and speakers in my 1990 which had the Bose. The easiest thing to do is just have the original stereo rebuilt. The speaker can be rebuilt and the head can be rebuilt to accept current CD formats like MP3. But you'll spend nearly twice the money having the old stuff rebuilt...
I did a total brake rebuild on my 77 years ago. I'd bet the calipers already have stainless sleeves in them. I'd get rebuild kits for all the calipers. They are pretty cheap and the calipers are pretty simple to rebuild. I bought new calipers only to find I could have rebuilt the ones on the...
