Thanks for the responses back so far. The car is basically stock with 75K miles. I have already replaced the plugs and wires about 25K ago and I did the dark test recently to see if there was any arcing - only a small amount after I sprayed bit of water on the wires. I replaced the fuel filter...
Recently my 1994 LT1 4 speed automatic has been idling very rough and will lose power under acceleration. If I drop down a gear ( keeping the RPM's higher ) it will run okay - but not 100%. It feels like bad gas or low octane, but I have changed fuel with 94 octane a few times ( and octane...
During my lunch I was parked for an hour in my '94 and I had to turn the key on and off a few times to adjust the windows / radio etc.
When I went to start the car, there was no starter engagement at all.
No click, no nothing. All of my lights, radio etc worked.
I decided to try it again...
BF Goodrich makes a G Force T/A Drag radial 2.
Does anyone have these tires already and are they okay, if they are used primarily on the street, for my '94?
Most of my driving is around the city with the occasional 100 mile cruise.
Any advice is appreciated.
I am not sure if your '87 is similar to my '94, but when I had problems with my cruise and heater controls, they were both related to a plastic T valve that is located under the passenger side Corvette plastic head cover.
On my car, on the underside of this T valve, it had a hole that formed...
Looking at Tire Rack's advertisement, they have Sumitomo tires at a great price.
They have the 315/35ZR-17 & 275/40ZR-17 listed for a total cost of $550.00 for all four tires of the HTR Z brand.
Considering that my driving time is unfortunately limited to local weekend runs, are these tires...
On my '94 my cruise control and the heat register vents wouldn't work.
Gordon Killebrew told me to look under the passenger side, plastic Corvette rocker cover and see if the T vacuum valve had a hole in it.
Sure enough it did and once I replaced the T valve, both worked immediately after.
Cruise control
On my '94, my cruise control and the air vent / heat registers wouldn't work.
It turns out there is a plastic T vacuum valve under the passenger side rocker cover (under the corvette plastic shield cover ) that had a hole in it.
I replaced it and instantly they both started...
I am not sure if your issues were as bad as mine, but here goes:
My '94 had:
High and rough idle, no kick down passing gear, ASR service light stayed on and SYS kept flashing.
After replacing the battery, TPS, ECM computer it still didn't help.
It turned out to be the A/C wiring control...
Cruise Control
I had an issue with my cruise control on my '94, in case it is why you were asking where the module was located.
There is a plastic T valve located under the passenger side CORVETTE plastic rocker cover ( above your heads ), that could have a small hole on the under side of it...
A/C problems
I had an issue with air control on my '94, which sounds slightly different than what you are experiencing, but it could be related.
There is a plastic T valve located under the passenger side CORVETTE plastic rocker cover ( above your heads ), that could have a small hole on the...
Follow up.
I forgot to mention that my SYS lights were also occasionally flashing, during the other symptons I was having also.
It stopped also, once the wiring harness module was replaced.
ASR acting up?
Your situation sounds like exactly what happened to my '94 coupe 3 years ago.
It took me over two years to finally figure out what was causing all of the grief.
I posted my issues a few times on this forum but it seemed like I was the only one who ever had this problem.
See if...
Same issue
I also have a '94 auto with 82,000 miles and it is idling erratic, plus it won't downshift from overdrive anymore.
I have replaced the ECM and the TPS and it is still doing it.
Reading the posts above, it is sounding like the opti-spark also.
At the same time the two above issues...
My '94 four speed auto, no longer has the passing kick down gear working.
It will automatically upshift into the proper gear, however the cars is gut less if I am trying to pass someone.
Any idea what may be causing this?
Erractic idling
Would this advice, possibly correct erractic idling?
I also have a '94 and my idling is fluctuating up and down ( quite noticeably ).
I have had the TPS and computer replaced, but it is still doing it.
What do you think?
My car is a Canadian car, however the daytime running lights are not working.
I am trying to find the location of the module, to see if perhaps it is just a connection issue.
Does anyone know where the daytime running light module is located?
