I'm sorry. I forgot to say it was an automatic. I did not change the driven gear but I did install a Dakota Digital SGI-5 Universal Speedometer Signal Inteface. I tested it with GPS and the speedo is right on the money. I also tried Eckler's Speedometer Calibrator which sold for a whopping...
Hi. I just put in a 3.54 rear end with a stock 350 (replacing a 2.73). Seems to me the engine is working really hard at highway speeds. I love the way it drives between the red lights but hate it on the highway. The engine is doing about 3,000 rpm @ 73 mph and it's really working hard at 80-85...
Recently, I had the rear end of my 1986 automatic converted from a 2.73 to a 3.54. Everything was successful. So now my speedometer doesn't read correctly. I figure it's about 20 mph off. Can anyone tell me what "driven" gear goes on a 1986 with a 3.54 and does anyone know where I can even find...
Today, my baby went in for surgery. They're taking the 2.73 ring and pinion out and replacing it with a 3.54. I'm nervous as a cat. When I saw all that had to come off just to get to the differential, I could no longer watch. I can't believe I'm that attached to a C4! I trust the guy that's...
Great advice. They also offer a 3.55 ratio. After that it goes to a 3.08. I have the open K&N and an upgraded exhaust. Not sure on the throttle body but I'm pretty sure it's stock. So maybe I should consider a 3.55 with some minor engine mods?
I currently have a 2.73 rear end installed and have been going back and forth for the last 6 months trying to decide if a 3.73 is worth the expense at Ecklers or Mid-America. They want about 1800 bucks (including core) for the entire assembly and I'm OK with that as long as it gives me the SOP...
Just wanted to say "Thanks"
TedC ... I just wanted to say thanks for this thread. I was having an overheating problem in my 86. I knew it was my aux fan and I knew the aux fan was working but just wasn't turning on when it should. I couldn't find the correct aux fan switch to replace the one...
I would think "freedom of speech" would cover it but the only thing I could think of is there needs to be some perameters so disgruntled people don't bash innocent merchants. In my case, the guy's a rip off and I'll stand by it.
I've been told to spend 35 bucks and Join the National Corvette Restorer's Society. National Corvette Restorers Society I've got a friend who has a 1962 vette (it's a beauty) and he says he could have never restored it without their help. They have all kinds of things like photos, schematics as...
I totally agree with James. I just got ripped off on a Dash Cluster repair and I think C.A.C. members need to know who does good work and who doesn't. The ones who provide good products and services deserve to be rewarded and the ones that don't need to be exposed. I would welcome anything...
LOL: I think we can find plenty of customers who were not satisfied with the Taber brand of service! And by the way, I have yet to hear back from the guy after sending him a nice e-mail letting him know his unit was DOA. Pretty obvious rip-off. I've given him every opportunity to respond, and he...
My own fault. I should have read the posts first. I still haven't heard back from the guy after sending him a nice e-mail saying his POS didn't work. I don't expect to hear back from him either. Just hope everyone here knows this guy is trouble.
