GM Press Release: Corvette Z06 Sprints to 60 mph in Less than 3 Seconds

Oh. Ok. I think using drag radials might improve the time just as much as the Dodge, because of the weight difference. The biggest difference on the track between stock tires, just about whatever the brand is, and say M/T drag radials, is the ability to launch under a greater rpm and keep...

GM Press Release: Corvette Z06 Sprints to 60 mph in Less than 3 Seconds

I still don't see the 60 ft. time on the z06? Do you have a link? How did you arrive at that number? All I know is I have owned a 638 hp vette and there is a world of difference between a stock tire and a drag radial, which is designed to last 5000 miles and which would never be on a stock...

GM Press Release: Corvette Z06 Sprints to 60 mph in Less than 3 Seconds

I didn't see the 60 time? Of course, I haven't driven the new z06 or the Dodge. I have owned a blown c5 making the same hp as a zr1, 638. with only about 430 ft.lbs of torque. I can tell you that there was at least a half second difference between stock and stick drag radials. Yes, I had...

GM Press Release: Corvette Z06 Sprints to 60 mph in Less than 3 Seconds

Let's see the z06 with the same drag radials before we get carried away here.

GM Press Release: 2014 Corvette Stingray Cranks Out 460 Horsepower

638 is a wild ride. Hard part is hooking up. I put a procharger on my z16 and it was amazing in midrange. Downshifting was a neckbreaker. I'm a lousy shift guy. Best I could do was 11.6 in the quarter. After that I could not go back to anything less. So 460 seems pretty pedestrian to me.

GM Press Release: 2014 Corvette Stingray Cranks Out 460 Horsepower

So if we are comparing apples to apples, the base car should have 500 hp. For the same money, you can get a zl1 or GT500 with greater numbers. As tradition holds, the GT500 can't hook up due to its nose heavy heritage and undersized rear tires. On the track, it is all about traction and...

GM Press Release: 2014 Corvette Stingray Cranks Out 460 Horsepower

Still disappointing The change from C5 to C6 brought standard HP above that of the C5 z06. I was hoping for the same progress after such a long run for the C6. The Camaro is not far behind, and neither is the 5.0 in V8 base versions. I won't mention the GT500 or ZL1. Let's see if that flat...

Tomorrow we’ll show you the C7 Corvette (can't say if its real or BS but here goes)

You beat me to it. Looks like a 2000 Celica. The Celvette. I guess they are trying to tap into the young ricer buyer if this is really the design. Give me a Sideswipe any day over this. There is a way to work the Sideswipe design into a practical production version as all of the renderings...

    Corvette C7 rendered by avarvarii

I concur. This looks like a c6, which I refuse to buy. Exposed headlights are too busy and totally unsleek. :puke Even if I made up a word, I think it is apt. Sorry but I am kind of angry about the c6, and I hope it does not persist in the c7. jmho

    Another one bites the dust....

Still wrong. One of the photos shows c6 headlights; no popups. Not that it really matters; point is that vette driver gives us a bad name for his idiotic behavior. :mad

    Another one bites the dust....

Reporter is an idiot for mistaking base c6 for "zri." Driver: stupid is as stupid does.

A few new Corvette Stingray Concept pictures for y'all...

Hate the headlights and grill. Need hidden headlights like original stingray. Love all else except the lambo doors. Fix the grill headlights and lambo doors and we are in business. Love the fender flares on front like the c3. Time to get back to that look.

BREAKING: Graham out at Corvette Assembly Plant; Bob Parcell of CAMI in

A Corvette is a luxury, special interest vehicle. In this economy, demand has dropped regardless of who the plant manager is. Passion has to take a back seat to practicality in tough times. Corvette needs a new kick. I would hope that there would be some new excitement in the lineup that...

What tires are you running and why?

Toyo r888's on the back, Proxes on the front. Swithching back tires to Mickey Thomspson's ET streets. Not enough hook on the r888's since adding an A&A Vortech. We'll see if the MT's can launch.

Grand Sport 2010 MY: Return of the Grand Sport

The stripes work for me:thumb. But then as an owner of the 04 commemorative edition, I am somewhat biased. Wonder if it will get a blower?

Lingenfelter Corvettes - Come On In

Decided to go with Vortech setup at A&A. I await shipment as I write this. Should be between 520 and 550 rwhp when installed. Didn't want to have to change any internals. I will let you guys know how it does. Tim

Lingenfelter Corvettes - Come On In

There were around 1,750 sold in the states and a couple hundred overseas. So I would imagine that some day they will be collectible? Having sold cars before, I am hesitant to mod it because bone stock is usually more desirable years down the road. The car has plenty of power as is, but you...

Lingenfelter Corvettes - Come On In

Thanks Remo. I'm kinda torn between the need for more speed and keeping it collectible. How about reliability? Can you go out and run hard repeatedly without issues? A supercharger is supposed to be low maintenance. . .I have never had one. Thanks for your advice and feedback.

Lingenfelter Corvettes - Come On In

I recently purchased a z16. I am considering Lingenfelter in the future. Does their 36k mi. warranty apply to vehicles which are not new? How is reliability after installation of the supercharger? I am also concerned about resale value and the Lingenfelter mods affecting the collectible...
