    75 Electrical Madness

When headlights are turned on or brake pedal is depressed the seat belt dash light and buzzer go on and gas gauge needle moves to past full. This just started and I don't know where to begin the diagnosis. I hope you have an idea.

Dispelling the Edelbrock Performer RPM "Won't Fit Myth"

Perhaps you are correct about using the stock air cleaner. I didn't use it and got plenty of clearance with the Edelbrock Elite air cleaner. If you are going to use the Performer RPM intake and change the performance and look, then I would use an Edelbrock air cleaners as well.

    Chrome Yourself vs Buy Online

Nearly every Vette owner has wanted to put some chrome on their car to dress-up the motor or chassis. Some of the aftermarket parts available are GM OEM that have been chromed by the seller, while others are cheap s#$% from China and elsewhere. I have also noticed that the cost is relatively...

Dispelling the Edelbrock Performer RPM "Won't Fit Myth"

Size Does Matter Hib you're right on the money about size. The Edelbrock Elite has a 3" filter which is a fairly large size (really 2 7/8") and is the one I experimented with - it will work. I looked into all the air filters available with low profiles and found the Mr. Gasket's "Low Rider"...

Dispelling the Edelbrock Performer RPM "Won't Fit Myth"

Yesterday, I fitted the hood on my 75 C3 with the Performer RPM and this is what I found. There was 1 ½” space at the front of the air cleaner and 3” at the rear after the hood was closed. To check clearance yourself, take a wad of aluminum foil and compact it loosely into two balls and place...

My question is simple. on a 75 Vette, can the engine be pulled with both the radiator and automatic transmission left in the car?

Question on Corvette Central Dual exhaust

Don't go to the shop I installed the same exact system by myself without much difficulty. I suggest you do the same. You will need four jack stands to do the job. Good luck.

Has anyone seen where to get those latest C3 Fender Grilles??????

I think this strategy was typical of the 70s'. The cars produced by Detroit during this time period seemed all to feature significant cost savings at the expense in the quality of their cars. Luckily Corvettes weren't hit too bad during this time.

Question: What Percent or Number of 73-79 Corvettes Are Still on the Road

C3 Corvettes 73-79 Still on the Road? I know that between the time period 1973-1979 there were 304,926 Corvettes produced. Do any of you have an idea of what percent or number are still driving around today, or know where to get this information?

Has anyone seen where to get those latest C3 Fender Grilles??????

I know that they are an essential part of the engine's cooling area but why simply have a black hole when it could have been dressed up a little. Makes no sense to me

Has anyone seen where to get those latest C3 Fender Grilles??????

I affectionately call them rat holes. Why didn't GM fill these holes with grilles like the other series and models???

Has anyone seen where to get those latest C3 Fender Grilles??????

Has anyone seen where to get those C3 Fender Grilles?????? I've seen those chrome fender grilles at a couple car shows but haven't found out yet who sells the kits. I think they'll look great on my 75 - I've hated those black holes in my fenders.

    cam and radiator

Removing the radiator needs the help of God. Say your prayers and get somone that is not in the spiritual form to help you. When you get the radiator out, do yourself a favor and bring it to a radiator shop to have it checked. Trust me you won't want to take it out again. Yes, moving the...

    Edelbrock Performance Package Question

I'm thinking of buying the #2098 or any of the other Top End Power Package from Edelbrock for my Vette. I have a 75 with the L-48 Fred Flintstone pedal powered V8 165 hp engine with 8:5 to 1 compression. Have any of you used this package your L-48? If so are you happy with it? Thanks. Here...

    cam and radiator

Radiator Removal I'm starting the same project and can't get past the radiator removal. I took all the brackets and bolts off that hold the rad in place and still I can't pull it out. Shouldn't the shroud just fall against the engine leaving room for the rad to come out? Did I miss some...

    Alarm Problem

I have a 75 and have been working on restoring it for the past 4 years and the last thing to fix is the alarm. When I turn the fender key switch on the alarm sounds. I triend to hold each switch closed individually one at a time and this doesn't make a difference. I hope you have some ideas...

    Steering box rebuild?

Don't do it! Its not worth doing yourself. Buy a rebuilt and drop it in. Wait on the alignment because the steering wheel may need to be straightened.
