This sounds like a reverse lockout solenoid giving you problems. I recently read a post where a gentleman was able to pull the solenoid, clean it up, re-install it and the problems went away. You may want to do some research. Might save you some big bucks. :beer

Gentlemen this is my first post on this forum so Hello. I experienced some issues with my 2000 vert that you all may be interested in. I had the car die on me at an intersection but then start back up. This happened a couple of times until it would not start or only start and idle around 400...

If the cable that runs across the hood from the drivers side latch to the passenger side latch is not broke just misadjusted I have been successful by lifting on the drivers corner and reaching in and pulling on the cable which runs between the two latches and this should release the passenger...
