Question: Has Anyone Used Batee.com To Repair Their Instrument Cluster

Thanks to rabalin and FLDAVE for responding. Based on your comments, I've decided to go for it! I'll let you know how it turns out as soon as I can find the time to take out the cluster and ship it off. With the thunderstorms we've been having lately, here in AZ, it's been difficult to work...

Question: Has Anyone Used Batee.com To Repair Their Instrument Cluster

Hello All! The lights that light up the gauge cluster have finally stopped working. It was an intermittent problem, but now they're off all the time. I watched several repair videos on batee.com and was wondering if anyone here has used Bryan's repair services. He seems like he knows what...

GM Press Release: Chevrolet Lifts Lid on 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible

If you listened and watched the reveal, you would have heard Tadge say that they were re-located underneath the car on the vert.

Hi All, New to CAC, and I have a few questions about my 1986 z51 coupe.

Hi, docderek05! Welcome to the CAC!! First, I must point out that my '89 with an automatic (original option) also has the Upshift Light in the main cluster just above the tach's bar graph. Although, in the 2 years I've had the car, I've never seen it illuminate. You can make out the faint...

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Speculatively Animated

Hate It! I'll have to wait to pass judgment, since this is an animated rendering, but if this turns out to be the 2014, I won't be buying one anytime soon. I'll keep my C4 for as long as I can still find parts for it. At certain angles, I have to agree with others on this thread, it looks like...

Help! My '89 Might Be Getting Too Hot to Handle

Boomdriver: I understand what you're saying about airflow and everything, but I'm having this issue while cruising on the freeway at 65 - 70mph. Granted, the air temp here is high (usually 105+) when I'm on my way home from work in the afternoon, but I don't remember the temps ever getting...

Help! My '89 Might Be Getting Too Hot to Handle

I just got my '89 out of the shop on Friday...it was leaking anti-freeze/coolant from the back of the engine. The tech determined that the lower intake manifold gasket was leaking. While replacing the gasket, I had them replace the valve cover gaskets too. After a test drive, it was still...

GM's V8 Production Down by Half - Should Next Gen Corvette Adopt a V6 to Keep Up with the Times?

I owned a Pontiac Fiero, and although it wasn't considered a "sports car," it did very well in its time. It was fun to drive, had tons of legroom, and got decent performance numbers.

GM's V8 Production Down by Half - Should Next Gen Corvette Adopt a V6 to Keep Up with the Times?

Everyone Seems To Be Forgetting... I haven't read all of the posts yet, but one thing I didn't see anyone mention, out of the posts I did read, is that a 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder have different rev limits, and thus, different torque, etc. Also, a V6, or inline-6 for that matter, requires more...

Help! I need a TPMS to make my "Service LTPWS" Warning Light Go Off.

Hello All! I just posted a thread in the parts for sale section also at http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/c4-parts-sale-wanted/130068-needed-tpms-blue-1989-a.html Thanks for looking and for your help!

    Needed: TPMS (Blue) for 1989

The "Service LTPWS" light has been on since I bought my car about 1 year ago. I have been ignoring it, since the "Low Tire Pressure" warning light worked like it was supposed to. Or, so I thought! I broke down and put new tires on yesterday. Discount Tire discovered that the blue sensor and...

Question: What is causing my '89 to stall?

Here's An Update! I did as someone suggested and bought a whole new set of injectors, although I didn't get them at FIC. After spending several hundred dollars doing that, it didn't solve the issues. I still have the rough idle and a lean condition. However, I did solve the stalling problem...

    Help! Rough Idle--intermittent

What kind of MPG are you getting

JonM: My bone-stock '89 L98 with an AT is my daily driver, so it takes me to work and back everyday. Round-trip each day of about 54 miles with a mix of surface street and freeway driving, which is sometimes stop-and-go, nets me about 22.4 MPG. However, on a recent trip to Las Vegas, I averaged...

Question: What is causing my '89 to stall?

First, let me say "Thank You" to all of you who tried to help me with my issue. But, here's an update... I took it to a different shop, and after much testing, it was discovered that 2 of the spark plugs installed during the tune-up at the other shop were defective. The ceramic insulators on...

    Help! Rough Idle--intermittent

FForward, I have a similar situation with my '89, except that in addition to a rough idle, the engine will stall, almost like someone is turning off a light switch. There's no warning and it's immediate. I, too, have replaced all of the ignition components, including the ESC module and entire...

Question: What is causing my '89 to stall?

Hi Keremarsan: When it stalls, it acts as if someone is turning off a light switch. It doesn't have the typical reaction of being fuel-starved (sputtering before it dies). I'm not sure how I would check to see if the fuel pump is still running. I've had a fuel pressure gauge attached when it...

Question: What is causing my '89 to stall?

Thanks for your reply. I thought it was possibly a fuel delivery issue and checked the pressure with the key on, engine not running, and at idle and higher rpms, while not moving. The static pressure was 42psi, the pressure at idle and throughout the rpm band was just over 40psi. I replaced...

Question: What is causing my '89 to stall?

I would assume that it does, boomdriver, but if the MAF sensor wasn't working correctly, it should set a code in the ECM. No fault codes are present. That's one of the first things I checked.
