What Octane do i have to run with a 427 motor .030 Compression is 12:1 will pump gas work like 93 octane???? Thanxs for any help it is a brand new motor i started it up with Cam 2 fuel right now just trying to see how much is really needed!???????

On a 427 chevy big block the rear main seal does the > the big end or the opening face the front of the motor and the pointed face the rear???does any body have any pictures????thanxs joe

Im in the process of rebuilding my 427/390 motor, It is a number matching motor i would like to bore it out 030 over and raise the compression ratio up some maybe 11.0 to 11.5 somewhere in that area! My question is? Will this hurt the value of the motor/car by doing this ???????

I am in the process of removing my 427 out of the car, to rebuild it! and after being under this car unhooking everything linkage,exhaust driveshaft,ect..... it kinda looks like the motor wont come out with the trans attached? due to the non removel crossmember or will it? have any body pulled...

I have a 427/390 motor with the 063 heads! im going with a 639 lift roller hyd cam, and i was told that!,The valve guides need to be cut down! why would that be needed??? have anyone ran into this before? Thanxs Ricochett

Hello everybody im new here! i am rebuilding my 1969 corvette 427/390 motor, after pulling the heads off the motor i notice the valves are white on the exhaust im concern they might have been ran hot! but im not sure! does anybody have any reason why the did this? Thanxs
