    Bro Ken's corvette for sale

For those of us that have been here since the beginning... Ken was a wealth of knowledge and had one hell of a 1987 vette. It is currently for sale and what a find at this price considering all the detail of the build you can read right here...

    Find a car by VIN?

I know this is an old thread but I finally found the car for him. Happened to be for sale at the Corvette Shop in Tampa. Only 56k miles and still in great condition. He's stopping by my place tonight on his way back to his house up in the North east.

News: Collapse at National Corvette Museum sends cars into sinkhole

Liability and insurance is the Lender's responsibility. Basically GM is on the hook for their cars. NCM is on the hook for theirs. One assumes that NCM has insurance on them. If any other cars are damaged then the owners of those cars should have insurance on them. Smart owners would add...

    Question: C5 battery types??

GM offers a battery protection package (i.e. a battery charger) on the new Corvettes, and has for years, as an option. Not everyone stores their cars which is why it is an option. Optima still recommends a battery for the C5 that doesn't meet manufacturer spec. That is likely my issue...

    Hood rubber bumper thingies

Thanks everyone! I went from zero options to having to pick an option! :happyanim:

    Hood rubber bumper thingies

Sorry to drag up an old thread but this is annoying me now because I own the car and the hood sags a bit up front. Here is a pic, any new ideas? I thought I might have found the part online but I'm simply not sure.

    Question: C5 battery types??

Your 2004 has the benefit of top terminals. My 98 has side terminals which are prone to leaking. I have a receipt for about 3 grand in replacing everything that a leaky Delco destroyed. I'm likely to go back to a delco though and I'll keep an eye on it or pony up for an Odyssey, Apex...

    Help! Chirp chirp!

it likely 'cleaned' some oil/grease off of a pulley when the hose blew. i.e., you probably already had a problem starting and this exposed it. i'd guess idler arm, they tend to go. pull the belt and hand spin the pulleys. It could also be the water pump if it ran dry.

C-6s for sale.... Dealers only ?

I went and read the posts you made in the for sale section. You were answered. You asked why the asking price of a 3LT 2006 Convertible was near the price of a new 2013 base model coupe. You got responses. The dealer didn't have to respond if they didn't want to, especially considering you...

    Question: C5 battery types??

I have an optima in my C5 as well and it is giving me hell. It is less than a year old and I have the receipt. I took it to autozone and had it tested, they said I needed a new one because the voltage was way low. (I had just charged it the night before as well). I had misread the receipt...

Does C6 steering wheel fit C5? -or any alternative wheels?

Funny enough... I find the 2006+ steering wheel to be one of the cheapest looking things that the C6 has attached to it. There is something about the center plastic part that simply looks cheap. In my opinion the 2012 Centennial edition in 4LT trim is by far the nicest interior of any...

'Vette, Mustang, Cherokee fans, stop complaining already

The C5 still looks like an NSX and RX7 got it on. The C7 tail lights are fine. the whole rear end though I'm not sure about. It just seems confusing to me. I do like the front half. The good news about the rear is there really is nothing else like it.... that is what Corvette used to do...

Question: If You Were Chevrolet, How Would You Attract Younger Buyers To The Corvette?

The problem is Corvette is a value associated brand and successful people that own Porsche, Ferrari, etc. don't consider it because of that. If you compare a Citizen Eco Drive to a Rolex the Citizen will out perform the Rolex and come in at 1/10th the price (or less). Try to find a successful...

Help! locked out of 97 c5

your key fobs should have a switch on them. the switch turns passive on and off. Off is with the switch part slid to the left. on is with it switched to the right. passive keyless entry basically means you don't push buttons to unlock the car... walk up to it, it unlocks... walk away, it...

    Question: Roll bar for C7

It depends on the sanctioning body. I think NHRA you have to weld. GM will have, or already has, specs on how to do it. They have specs on the ZR1 / Z06 so it's certainly possible.

Question: If You Were Chevrolet, How Would You Attract Younger Buyers To The Corvette?

It's price and value.... young people don't even consider Corvette as an option. Here are some comparisons. Back in 66 you could get a base model vette with a 327/300 for about 4 grand. A 289 mustang, with some options like disc brakes, etc. would run you just about 3 grand. This put the...

Corvette stolen from parking lot near Carlisle Fairgrounds during Corvette show

If you are stealing a car at a car show, get one that will blend in and you won't get caught to begin with.
