Hey guys, I am bringing a 1981 C3 back to life for a freind of mine. It has sat since the mid 90s. First order of business is to drop the fuel tank and lines. Today's question (there will be many in the following weeks) is the fuel tank for the '81 cleanable? I read something about a bladder...
It sounds as if you might need to adjust your valves. This is something that you can do on your own. If you can get someone to crank the engine while the valve cover is off you will be able to see if the valve is opening and closing. Dis connect the power to your distributor before the cranking...
Hey guys, thanks for the quick replies. I have not had the chance to trouble shoot this problem, maye tomorrow. The manual override switch intrigues me. I didn't know such a device existed. I will post my findings
Hey guys, long time no posting. 1974 coupe headlights come on but do not raise. I vacuum problem. How to trouble shoot switch without removing dash? Car is running great. No signs of vacuum leak. Plugged/broken check valve?
Thanks for any helpful information.
Hey guys, does anyone know why it takes so long for Vette Brakes and Products to issue credit for calipers returned as cores. It has been a month and still no action. I called the first time and they said it would be a month. Waited till today and they said it would be another week. They have...
Hey guys, would someone please explain how longer bolts will lower the rear of my '74 coupe? Do I tighten them as far as possible or make them as long as possible.
Thanks Bud :cool
Lars, great thread. Thanks for the effort and the detailed information. I based my guess on what I obtained when I built the engine I am running in my "74 4 speed. I built the engine while enrolled in the High Performance Engine program at Sinclair Community College here in Dayton Ohio. The...
I'll be interested to compare your results with mine. We have very similar componets. I used AFR 195 heads with a comp cams hyd. roller. 34 degrees is where mine was the most productive.
Let me pile on here. The man who does my alingnments/suspension work told me to spend my money elsewhere instead of upgrading my brakes. He sets up alot of the c3s in this area that do road race/autocross and most of them use the stock style brakes. No need to try to redesign the wheel.
Hey Gary, nice pattern on that ring.
Hey Mikey, if you can't slam the aftermarket stuff what good is a forum.
Seriously, this forum has assisted me in a total nut and bolt off frame rebuild of my '74. Not once have I been let down by the members here. Other than Mikey questioning my product...
Hey copdog, I think it is worth a try. If you already have the heads and are doing the work yourself. You may have a detonation issue to deal with (I always did with 305s). If you don't have the heads look into some of the after market cast units (if your trying to maintain some originality?)...
