Fruits of my labor this weekend...

I took the ol' LS2 by the car wash and washed the engine off. I'm surprised it got it looking so good. No brush or even touching involved.

I lied...it's Mothers California Gold Carnuba Wash & Wax.

This is what happened the day after I washed them... At least the Vette is in the garage. And we're supposed to get six inches today. At least it never stays more than a day or two here, but so much for the mountain drive I was hoping for today... :-(

Actually, all I did was wash it. I used Meguiar's Car Was with Carnuba Wax in it, and one of those sponges with the microfiber cloth on it. And some elbow grease. Made sure to keep it all wet until I was done then dried it with a microfiber cloth.

Those are some cool pics! My wife wants a date night soon, so we may just make a whole day of it.

I got the tires put on today and filled it up with Mobil 1. I'm very happy with the tires. They softened the ride up very nicely. I found one of the CO2 inflation kits with four cartridges and the adapter on amazon for $23 so I'm gonna have the wife order that up.

Yeah I imagine it would be pretty involved. I'm not a good planner to begin with. lol

Yeah I did a search for Colorado and didn't turn anything very new up. So I guess nothing is planned for anytime soon?

Are there very many members from Colorado that you've noticed? We're in Colorado Springs.

That'd be nice. I'm sure the wife would appreciate it, too! Put a new battery in and as soon as the positive touched the alarm went off so I knew I was golden. lol Also got a smart charger/maintainer to keep on it when we aren't driving it. Tires are going on at lunch tomorrow. I'm so excited...

I bought them at the tire place here on Fort Carson. They weren't exactly cheap...but about normal for other places I was checking. And yes, these are not run flats.

Finally got around to ordering a set. Went with Michelin Pilot Sports. Hopefully they'll be on tomorrow or Thursday. Now if we can just get some decent weather one weekend I'll get it all cleaned up the way it deserves.

Has anyone used tirerack.com before? I found these there with a $70 rebate, plus $82 for shipping.

Looking forward to it. I need to get a battery and a set of tires. I've heard Michelin Pilots are good. What do you guys prefer? Also, is there a difference in performance or handling between run-flat tires and regular ones?

I'm a little ashamed of it right now. Or more accurately, myself for letting it get so dirty. It needs to be washed and I need to polish the wheels. Just hard to put the time in for that when I can't even drive it.
