Not really. Unless your willing to run carbs. When you drop something else in, your ecu won't work with it. Then you run into 100s if not thousands of dollars in performance chips or a totally different ecu that you can tune the engine with. If you want to have "cheap" power and only looking for...
300 hp isn't that difficult, but it will take some decent modifications. Your 85' wasn't exactly the strongest l98, so it will take more than say doing this with a later l98. If you do a set of heads, cam and mini ram you'll be there. I went through TPIS out of Minnesota and they were able to...
Ha...never thought about that. Why would there be a hole machined that far into the head? I've never heard of that. If that's the case, I'll just need to plug the hole and be done with it, right???
Short and sweet... Rebuilt engine. Part of the rebuild was the addition of Dart pro 1 heads. With 130 miles on it I noticed a leak. Used oil dye and black light and followed oil from bottom (oil filter) to top (machined hole on the back side of head). What is the hole for??? Why is it leaking oil?
I found the issue. My tuner found a list of things that need to be done to dial in the timing and idle with the new chip. If anyone is interested I can post it tomorrow when I take it down for tuning.
Ok...so now that I have it back running with the new additions, I'm having trouble with rough idle. I was expecting a different idle with the much larger cam, but I can't get it to sit at anything above 400 rpm if I'm lucky and its warmed up. It has a new chip in the ecm to operate the new...
Ya, coil was bad and had to be replaced. Then the mounting screw for the ground wire on the right corner of the coil wasn't making good contact because it was stripped in the cap causing an incomplete circuit. This car is fighting me every step.
Firing engine for first time since most recent build. I'm getting spark, it even tried to start twice. Now I'm not getting anything. I pulled spark plug wire and hooked up another spark plug and watched it. It's only sparking every other rotation, timing light showing the same thing. Any ideas..?
So now I need to plug in my o2 sensor. Sounds pretty easy, right..? Well, I can't find the harness to plug the new o2 sensor into. I've looked all over the drivers side and can't find anything. Doesn't this harness run from the ecm to a plug that I'd plug the o2 sensor plug too? It looks like a...
I installed a tpis mini ram intake. Problem I'm having is the distributor cap is REALLY snug. As in very little rotation to dial in the timing because of cap hitting fuel rails. Any suggestions on a different distributor or smaller hei cap? I could go with a smaller distributor and a separate...
Hey everyone, I have recently updated my oil pan so I can go road racing. Problem I'm having is that even though it says right hand dipstick it is a left hand dipstick pan. If anything, its easier to work the dipstick tube through the headers for installation on the left side, but the factory...
So I'm looking at expanding my collection and purchasing a 1968 hardtop convertible with numbers matching 327/350 4 speed. 116,000 approx. miles, rebuild on the engine(w/o documentation). Beautiful vette... fresh red paint(seller backed vette into pole), clean interior, everything that's...
Ah... that's simple enough. That would explain why it was eluding me. It's not there, only Z51. Did they produce the Z07 package in 1990 or just the Z51 package?
I'm looking at my c4 now. My neighbor's car was a bust and not a Z07. Mine, however has all the equipment (FX3, 6 speed, Dana 44, Z51 package...). The vin matches the service parts ID under the center console. What else do I need to identify this as a Z07?
Ok...so I removed the rubber pads on the ends of the spring all the way to the spring. But when I set the car back down, it did nothing. The car didn't sit any lower. I don't know where to go now. I followed the instructions from that link without the results. Any ideas where I might have gone...
I have my front end pulled apart and ready to cut pads to do the final drop on the suspension. Which pads do I cut? The pads on the end of the spring (spring pads) or the pads located in the middle of the spring under the car? I read the link I recieved earlier, but it just says slide spring out...
