1992 Coupe w/ original Bose system - How do I know if it's the Amp or something else. Nothing works, just massive static when I turn on the system, and I think it's coming from the passenger side speaker up front. Any way to test, or is this a $159 guess to buy an amp from Mid Am on line and...
Thanks for the input vetteoz - where are the sensors for temp located (both Dig, and Anal if not in same location) are they on both heads or just one. What you showed was the Oil pressure (OP) in picture, and Oil pressure working fine.
Gauges for both Oil temp and Coolant temp are not reading but the Digital readout for both are working fine. Don't know if there are separate fuses for these or not. It's the Analog gauges and not the digital for temps. Everything else on the dash display is working properly such as Volts...
Hey Tuna, you need to tell him that you have atleast 400 HP at the crank with your LT1/4 engine. Your 22 HP gain is right along the lines of performance percentage "%" for your HP baseline. A stock L98 has 250 HP at the crank. Using your percentage gain of about 5.5 %, it puts the stock L98...
That's a tough question to answer. What type of High Flow muffler (brand) are you talking about, and do you have an open air lid for the K&N. I'd venture to say you would get between 10 and 15 HP at most with just the basics you have mentioned.
That is for 90 - 91 years, 92 and later are different. I'm sure it's in the back end but unless I start ripping into things I cannot see it at first glance.
Not sure if the Tuner Box is it either. The Amp Relay looks like a Turn Signal Relay about 3/4 inch square. It's needed for the Bose stereo system and according to the instructions posted here at CAC -- it should be located in the back-end. A wire bundle is shown to have a female plug for the...
Help -- Where is the Amp Relay (for stereo) located for my 92 vette? I'm looking on the right hand side in the rear hatch area, per the instructions, but cannot find it.
Am I looking in the right location?
Do I need to dig further behind pannels etc.?
;shrug

Tuna -- Tried this site earlier in the week with the same part number and it has been discontinued. BlackTalon -- You can look for individual pieces on this site (heads, LT4 Hot Cam, etc) but could not find the intake manifold. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Look back on some of...
Any lights come on the dash? Oxy sensor should throw a code if dirty or going bad. Also, I've had somewhat similar symptoms that was attributed to the Optispark in my 92. Ran great until coming to a stop then erratic idol etc. I think moisture in the opti had a hand in this but also the...
Hey Lex, I don't know about Houston and Dyno tuning places but as a side note, you probably know that the 92' is an OBD1 style computer and any tuning needs to be done via chip burning. This may limit your area of search since newer model C4's have programmable ECM's. I have a feeling however...
Just for comparison my 92 auto coupe averages 24 mpg driving to work and back, mostly 60 mph and very few stops on a tank of fuel. I've received as high as 26 mpg on a tank and that was just going to work and running a few errands for the week of driving. This is country driving (no stop lights...
A friend at work who owns a 93 40th aniv. edition told me that she had to top off her oil with about 1/4 cup. She then proceeded to tell me she used Penzoil and asked if it was a good brand. I immediately asked if it was a synthetic type as I don't belive Penzoil makes a syn. She said she...
I did the K&N filter plus open air cut out on my 92. Can't really say I feel any (seat of the pants) difference and I doubt you would with any of your options listed. I have read that this combo yeilded 14 HP. I'm a little skeptical. Maybe 10 HP IMO. One thing I have noticed is you can hear...
I'm running 285 Kuhmos on all 4 corners on stock rims (1992). No problems with any clearance especially the fronts. Rides very well and the traction is excellent. I'm only comparing to old GSC's with 25K on the tires so any new tire would be an improvement. The difference in tire size...
