Bud, it is ok to retire now.
Had lunch with the “Yoda” in early 2010. It turned out to be a six hour visit. Sorry I missed him on last year’s trip through Amarillo. He was out of town the only days we were close by.
You old timers will remember that Yoda and I had some head to head...
"Best Sport Touring Bike ever"
Congrats on the job and the bike.:upthumbs
You are going to love the ST-1100. That was a great price. I still have my last ST1100 in Spain. Cain't wait for the knees to get good enough to be back on it.:W
Have a great holiday season.
Back up quick; you are going to drive over the edg of the earth!
At your latitude the Earth is about 18000 miles in circumference. (circumference at the equator X cos of latitude)
As a veteran of many road trips, several of them documented here at CAC:), I must take my hat off to you.;worship...
As stated in another thread. You guys get paid a lot better than we did.
As a 1Lt. in 1970 I needed a co-singer to buy a frigging Datsun.:confused
Remo, the price looks great. What Euro-trash can you touch for 100K?
Local dealer (Hood Chevrolet) has 3 ZR1's in stock and will deal a bit. Add...
Horace Slay has been there a long, long time.
I can testify to pre 1973.
If Horace is still with us he must be pushing 100. He was not a youngster when I was spending time around Jackson. That was before 1979.
Welcome to CAC
Germany is also the home of Steffen, his family and their super nice 82 Collectors Edition.
2 of my Vettes started out in Germany. The ZR-1 still lives just outside of Nuremberg.
Frankie of Frankie's garage is the #1 GM wrench in Euro-land. If you need him for any reason tell...
Mandina's on Canal St.
Hi Jack,
We are stuck in Northern Louisiana on family business so I will not be able to join you for lunch in New Orleans.:(
NOLA is full of great eating places - Mandina's has been my favorite lunch place for almost 50 years. The price is great just like the food...

It is still hotter n hell across the Southern states.
Heat factor of 98F with 89% humidity here at 11AM.:W

The engine/carbs/clutch cover look great! It must have been stored in a dry garage or you spent the last month with mother's metal polish and a toothbrush.:thumb
Wheels look good too!:)
Don't forget the brainbucket when you hit the streets.

Thaks Hib
I did not want to be the one to throw the wet blanket on his deal.
One of the Lotus guys that fabed up the ZR1 protos in the UK worked for the racing team a while back. He told me that they built 2 flop-top ZR1s. Both were crushed along with the other UK built Protos.
A "real" ZR1...
Love a Road Trip
When you get to the Gulf Coast send me a PM. I still have a good source for Oysters & Shrimp untouched by the oil spill.
I am in the New Orleans area, (north shore), for the foreseeable future.

Who built this engine? Did they follow the book?
Bent rods only happen when the rocker stops rocking before the rod stops rising. :ugh
The rockers could not be adjusted correctly to start with if the rods were totally wrong.
SBCs are a lot like Glocks. If you follow the instructions you just...
Go back to basic trouble shouting
Gas
Air
Spark
Are they all getting there at the right time?
Do not try to make it complicated... It seldom is!
It the starting fluid does not make it go "bang" it sounds like the Spark and Valves are 180 deg. out.
I would pull the Dist. back off all of the...
I just grab the tensioner and push it with one hand and flip the belt off with my thumb.:upthumbs
Putting a new belt on I run the belt around everything, pull it up to the edge of the airpump, push the tensioner down with the left hand and push the belt in place with the right hand.
Never saw...
The German company that makes all of the desert accessories for BMW & KTM makes a water/sand/shock resistant case for the Ipad. I had one for my Iphone and it worked perfect on the ST1100. :upthumbs
I like big displacement engines cause I hate to shift. When I rode the 'Busa I just knocked it...
I am a "Honda" guy. Currently there is a ST1100 & ST1300 in the barn. The 1100 has over 90,000 miles. Only scheduled maintenance and it looks and rides as good as it did in 2002 when it rolled out of Honda's front door.
Had a R1 & a 'Busa, love the Busa for a short blast but for putting miles...
Not long ago I watch someone in a silver colored ZO6 repeatedly launched from Florida stoplights in 3rd.
What does the owners manual say about that?
