Finally Back in a Vette - Nav/iPhone Question

Greetings, It has been a while since I have posted. I have had seven vettes but i was vette-less for almost four years until last Saturday. I just purchased a 2008 JSB vert with 3LT, Z51 and Nav. This is my fourth 2008. :D The car is in great shape with 37,800 miles on it. Here are a few...

    price drop?

I have been watching the used C6 market very closely now for about 8 months. I finally - and unexpectedly - came across a great deal on an '08 vert (so I bought it) but what I have seen is that C6 (verts at least) have gone up in price significantly since the weather has been warming. I know...

    Finally back in a Vert

I have been "vetteless" for about 15 months. I expected to have to wait until winter to get another vert since I failed to pull the trigger this past winter on a couple of nice ones. I have been watching the online sites and the for sales section here closely and a really good deal presented...

    Would Like Your Opinions

Ralph I have been aggressively searching for a convertible for over a month. The cars that I have found are all less than 30K miles and the sellers (dealers and private alike) are sticking to their deals. For some reason it seems currrently that they are getting close to retail (between private...

C-6s for sale.... Dealers only ?

I've been a member here since 11/2002 and I am a member on another Corvette site. Last year I traded my vette for a CTS (huge mistake) so I am vette-less until 2014. I haven't been visiting the sites as much as I normally do but I'd like to convey my thoughts on this thread. I have never known...

    Got my C6

I bought a new 2008 JSB coupe in the summer of 2008. I left my office intending to spend my lunch hour deciding between AO (I believe it was still AO and not IO), Black and JSB. After two hours I decided on the JSB but I was close to getting the AO. In my opinion your color will never look...

ZR1 vs. C6R - Help with understanding acceleration

I can comprehend how the C6R is faster around a track with special suspensions, etc. but it is hard to grasp how the C6R is so much faster in the 1/4 mile (first video link below) than the ZR1 which apparently has 138 more horses. How is this? Is it gearing? If so would the C6R top out at a...

    Help with tire wear/alignment

Thanks very much for the replies. I don't track my car and, although I have some fun with it and I enjoy cornering tight when I can, even when I am having some fun I probably couldn't be described as an aggressive driver. I bought this vette to be an occassional driver instead of a DD as my...

    Help with tire wear/alignment

Thanks Norty. As I said in my post, I did check for wear because I knew of the problem. However, I didn't check far enough in so I never realized that they were wearing. The GM tech said that he aligned it to Corvette specs because the specs were "very tight.":thumb

Thanks Tuna. Now that I understand how far in the wear can be I will check that area regularly.:thumb

    Help with tire wear/alignment

Well I have read of bad front tire wear on Z51 and GS vettes. When I bought my '08 Z51 vert last September I checked the tires and they appeared to be new. They are not the supercar tires that came on the car new but instead they are the same standard GY F1 that came on my new '08 coupe (non...

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

The GS is an good option too. One of the best looking vettes that I have seen is a cyber grey GS vert. This would certainly be less expensive and would also allow me to look for a pristine 2010 or 2011 lightly used model and still get GMPP if I decided to go that route. Meanwhile I will...

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

Thanks Hib. I would likely not get a Z07 package. Even though the LS7 is in both cars, the appeal of a Z06 is probably just too much. The more I think about it the more I realize that I enjoy my '08 vert and its Z51 suspension and LS3 are really enough for me, I simply want to own something...

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

Thanks Catbert. I am not concerned about straight line speed. I assme the 427 is the LS7 so I assume they are close there. How different is the suspension? :thumb

Blue Bullet Blog-The C6 Ownership Experience

I have recently begun to think about maybe trading my '08 vert for a '13 427 convertible. Can you comment on how you think the 427 vert compares to the Z06 perfomance-wise? Is the suspension even close to a Z? The reason I ask is that to me the ultimate car is a Z06 but I do enjoy my...
