Not sure what's going on with yours but I don't recall that there is any "plastic thumb bolt" and I don't know what you mean by the "S" thing. Picture would help. Hardtop should also be secured with 2 brackets and 10 bolts (4 on each side behind the seat and two more bolts where the convertible...

I figured the conversion had to be a long time ago. Sounds like you have a little;) more work to do. Nice C4!

Perhaps it turns the fan on at lower temperature? Should just have sensor in radiator. How long ago was the right hand conversion done?

As I recall the stock '89 automatic gears were 2:59. I upgraded mine years ago to 3:07 (stock TPI with headers). You will also need to change the speedometer gear especially with the higher gear ratios you are considering. My gas mileage went down 3-4 mpg.

Nice but I'm not sure about the tail lights. Trying to imagine what it would look like if it wasn't a ZR1. A C6 with a little edge? I'll have to wait until real photos (and spec's) are released before getting excited. :)
