00 automatic no reverse

Starting at light the car went out of drive went back into drive with a loud bang. Then there was a high squeel and no real forward motion that matched the engine speed. Nursed it back to 45 then everything was ok going forward. When I started the car after setting it will not go into reverse only drive. All codes are history that show a loss of SCM communications and a traction signal circuit malfunction. The car is a 2000 coupe has 118,000 miles and no mods.

Obviously, you have transmission problems.

If you're not familiar with DIY service of automatic transmisisons, I'd take the car to a service facility which is and have them diagnose the problem.

1st and reverse use the same gears but in opposite directions. I wouldn't be surprised if the linkage to the clutch pack was broken off.
Take it to a good transmission shop that is familiar with Corvetttes, and good luck.
