Question: 09 CD & DVD Disk Functioning?

I was wondering if when I am listing to XM or my IPod does the disk in my cd player spin? Same if I have my NAV off does the NAV DVD spin.

I can't say for certain, but I don't know why it would. All the other major entertainment functions stop when a new selection is made.
