Biggest scam/snake oil on the market. Worthless. Their sales gimmick is claiming to prevent bad things from happening (pssst-they weren't going to happen anyway).
Other than that, pretty good. :eyerole
Just read something about (goverment) permitting 15%-20% ethanol blend in the near future. I think it was in Hemmings Classic Car mag. They didn't sound to jazzed about it and neither am I.ad
The Feds are mandating higher MPG from the manufacturers, yet they want to give us fuel that gives us 10-20% (or more) worse fuel mileage. Typical bureaucratic idiocy.
Good thing I put my tin foil hat on before reading that link. The sky IS falling otfl
Any materials manufactured auto fuel systems in the last 20 years or so is compatible with ethanol. If you're running around with older stuff than that, it's due for replacement anyway.
Main problem w/ alcohol besides having less energy than gas is that it's a mild acid. That's why aluminum parts are threatened. It will tolerate a higher CR tho.
Last I checked, there isn't any reason to put gasoline, E85 or otherwise, in the coolant system.
Yup, my bad; must have had my baseball cap on backwards. :eyerole
And luckily for us, we're getting 10% in our regular fuel now. Yey. :eyerole
Psst: Someone telll the Id10t's up top that regular isnt really sold that much anymore, due to the price being almost identical most gas stations have combined and are selling Super+ only..
But Super+ will be only 5% until 2013, then that goes too. There is talk in the Corvette world here to use a bit of chainsaw oil (not for the chain, but the actual oil) in the mix. I havent tried that as i am running Super+, but when the time comes, we'll see what shakes..
The OP's question though: Dont bother.
