What gives with these 12 disc cartridges???

Mine has played through all 12 discs, but in preperation for an upcoming trip, I have re-loaded.

Now, the player indicates that some trays have "no disc" ... "errr"

I have re-loaded 2-3X, changed cartridges all together, and even played those "problem" discs in the dash cd.

This is going to be a looooong trip if I can't figure this thing out. :hb :hb

Any suggestions? ;shrug

Tom

Might be silly of me to ask, but are you sure you're putting the discs in with the label sides down on the trays? The very first time I used mine, I missed the fine print saying to do so, and none of the discs played. At the first gas station where I filled up, I flipped all of the discs over and everything was fine.

Yep...Checked 'em so many times it's drivng me crazy. [ CD ]:r

BTW, I see you're from B'ham. Ever play any of the Robert Trent Jones Trail stops? Or attended City Stages?

Awsome!! :Twist

Too bad we don't have one of these emotions that says "I love golf...or Country Music":w

Thanks C4-C5.

I tried unplugging a couple of times to no avail, so I took out the offending discs and replaced them with other music. All 12 work fine now.:cool

Guess it just doesn’t like Boogie Woogie, The Eagles, or Buddy Holly….although not liking Buddy Holly is Un- :pat

The irony is that all three play in the dash.

The only thing I can figure is that the ink I used to write on the label side must be being “seen” on the music side and interfering.

Looks like another recording session when I get back.

Thanks again

T

BTW, am headed to Indiana and will stop at the factory and museum on the way back. EDA 9/22 - Any CAC folks going to be there that day?

I don't play a lot of golf these days (played more when I was a kid). I've never played on the Robert Trent Jones Trail. Mainly my golfing in the past has been at Birmingham Country Club, where my parents are members. I did the "junior golf" clinic in the summers growing up.

I've been to City Stages a time or two, but not recently. This year, it looked like one would need a canoe to get around, so I passed up some tickets that we had at my office. Maybe next year...

Anyway, sorry to disappoint on both fronts! :( I'm guessing you've done both and had lots of fun... The main activity that I've tried to keep up with this summer (other than Corvette stuff, of course!) has been going to the lake and jet skiing, relaxing, etc... Gimme a shout if you're up this way!

L8r,
Fred

I lived in Chattanooga for 6 yrs. Did River Bend and City Stages but never made the June Jam.

I haven't played much golf lately either but have made all stops on the trail.

Will be in Chatt tomorrow on the way to Indy. Sometime, I'll make that trip through the Pan Handle and up 65 thru B'ham and look you up. :)

Be careful with that boat...I'll stick to Tera Firma

MM-C5,
I just finished recording a few more Cds, some I had to compile, others I copied the entire CD at once. The compiled Cds work, the copied disks didn't. Tried again, this time I compiled the new CD from the old, it worked. Something you might consider trying if you have the time.

Vettepilot -

Thanks for the tip. These 12 are all compilations and all work in the dash and in the home CD players...just have some that won't register in the 12/changer.

Those particular CD's have a heavy felt tip marker ink that when held to the light can be easily seen through the "play" side. It seems strange that would interfere, but I'm going to redo them and use a much lighter marker.

Just got back from Indpls and BG. Found another 2000 sitting in the lot with a license tag that said C5 2000. Managed to get a picture of the two tails together: C5 2000 and MM C5...pretty cool.

BTW, the distance from Chattanooga to Clearwater is 9 CDs :Steer

BTW-2 27.6 MPG :upthumbs

What you describe is normal for these junk changers. Don't waste your time using a different marker. Its the changer.

Interesting! I would have chalked it up to a cheap & thin CD. Still, I need to redo the ones that won't work, so I'll keep you posted.

I always print out some kind of label for my burned discs, instead of writing on them. Never had one not play in my changer.

If you don't have the cartridge door closed all the way , you can get that error . Try them again , making sure you have that little sliding door all the way closed . Cliff
