I have power to the plug but plaery does not come on

Ok, so it doesn't play at all. Make sure that you check for a good ground to the unit also.
I had a fix for the cd skipping issue over small bumps if that was your problem. Good luck with it.

CD changer
If you want to upgrade your Vette to an iPod player buy the adapter from the Doubledmods website at; Peripheral PXDP PXHGM4 Chevrolet Corvette 97- 4 iPod Adapter
Just unplug your CD changer then plug in the adapter to the harness in the truck compartment where the CD changer is located and run the wire up to the front, plug in an iPod and use the radio controls to control the songs played. Works great and is a lot less money than a repair on the changer. Since there is no moving parts songs will not skip no matter how bumpy the road is. I have mine for about four years and its great. Bought a used iPod in a pawn shop for $25 --- total cost $101 for both ....good to go.
