84 Vette with the Z51 pkg.
I plan to put 17x9.5 rims with 275/40x17 tires for the front and 17x11 rims and 315/35x17s on the rear. the rims are repro zr1s with the correct backspacing for the 84 to 87 Vette from Custom wheels Market and was wondering if anyone out there did the same or similar upgrade?

According to Tirerack.com you can even use an 18 inch rim. ;shrug...But it will screw up your speed-o

Hey Moonunit, how come your wheel sticks out so much, I have seen a few early vettes with 11' rears and they did not stick out at all, or they were at least on the edge.

nice fat tyres.

HI,

My car came with 315 / 35 /17 on the back and 285 / 35 /17 on the front. I have had no problems at all other than on full lock I get a small amount of rubbing on the front wheel arches.

One thing to watch is that your alignment is spot on as with tyres that wide you do get un even tyre wear on the inside edges.

My rims are Borbett. (see picture)

Cheers

I'm not really sure. I think it might be cause of the D44 being a few inches wider coming out of a 92. I think the later versions of the C4 had some changes in the rear.

My car has 315/35x17 all corners; has for years.

My rims are Epsilon, 3 piece.
