Do you have any issues with rubbing? So you used the stock 86 offset and put the extra inches of rim out the outside??/ Correct? Or did you add some rim to the inside????

Does the wheel hit the flare? What type of shocks, springs are you using? Is your car lowered over an inch??? looks like almost 2 inches lower..

The 86 vette (84/85/86) has a less wider rearaxle. I took the original zr1 wheel (11") and add 2" at the outside. But I do not know how this will be with a grandsport.

I wrote some about my lowering set in a another topic, reed "lowering problems", I use full race threeway coil-overs, special made for my vette. We in the Netherlands have a few shock specialists, and we have sets for all type of C4 corvettes.

The space between my fender and tire is 1", I do not know how much the lowering is.....sorry.....I have tried to use the Eckels set.......but I think it's......arghhh!

Your welcome,

Do not forget to ask for the special outside rim, they are not so shiny but much stronger.....maby you wanted too add some torque to your vette.......

Johnny, what are the side skirts on your car?
I have never seen any like that before.

Johnny,
Yes I am planning to add some power to my vette. I have been looking at the Lingerfelter catalog and drooling. I think I will probably save up my pennies and let them drop their modifed 350 (410hp/385 ft/lb torque) in my car. I am not necessarily a do-it-yourselfer, and looking at how much some of the people on here have spent with their modifications, having a professional tuner doing the mods may be the easiest for me.

I think I will do the suspension, wheels and brake upgrades before getting the engine......

Hi Clayborn

It is a good idea to spend your money first at better braking and good road balance.

I hope that I do not hurt corvettepeople what I am going to say now, if I do, I very sorry fooks.

I you wanted to transform your street vette in too a real racecar, you should concider a few things. The c4 is a real good sportscar, wich you easy (took me 3 years) can modify too a street/race car. It is better, but most off all, saver. You like your life, and like hitting the trothle?

1) the vette is too heavy and out of balance
2) the stock brakes are too dangerous (tried to full braking at 125? three times at once?)

Look at the new C5 LM, look close, then you will see what I mean.

Next project: APR brakes (355mm and six piston calipers)

I am sorry, they were on the vette when I bought it, and the former owner stays in Spain............

I love your car, very awsome. I think you should remove your leafsprings and add 3 way adjustible full race coil-overs. I am sure you will love it. You never did cornering as hard as you can do then.

please contact:

http://www.moritztuning.nl/

ask for John Moritz or Patrick Moritz and do the full job, let them also calibrate your wheels! In combination with the full race coilovers and the right settings, you will have a ulimate grip on the road.
