My 1962 327 300 HP misfires and turns off. It tends to happen in stop and go traffic, when the car gets warm, though the engine temp gauge never passes 190. When I downshift and hit the gas, it dies. It will re-start with hesitation. I have replaced and installed new coil, capacitor, ballast, distributor (w/pertronix electronic ignition), distributor cap and rotor, ignition condenser, plugs, plug wires. My Carter AFB was recently rebuilt by Bob Kunz. Timing has been set accordingly. I've focused my attention on the ignition system, especially something generating heat but haven't found anything. Changed the coil once again to make sure. Now I wonder if it's fuel/fuel delivery related. The fuel filter tends to bubble, even when the car's been turned off. Could the gas be getting hot? Could it be the fuel sending unit? Anyone have leads, ideas, clues?
Thanks!
PS, car runs strong when cold (usually first 15-20 minutes of driving).
