My friend has a 1965, and while we were out crusing the other day, the turn signals on both sides starting flashing. The weird part, is that they were flashing and acting EXACTLY like hazard / flasher lights. . .in that when you apply the breaks, the lights stop flashing. . .but with your foot off the breaks. . .they flash. Turn signals work if the breaks are off or on.

The really weird part is that we don't think the 1965 C2 has hazard flashers. . .and if it does. . .we have no idea where the switch is. Anyone have any ideas? What could be causing this problem? And why the lights are acting EXACTLY like hazard flashers?

Thanks for any help.

Regards,
JonR

Hazard flashers didn't become available (as a factory option) until 1966, and the switch went in the bracket that supports the parking brake handle, just above the handle.

Someone may have installed an aftermarket hazard flasher system, or there may be a short in the contacts in the turn signal switch.

We know the car is a mix of 1965 and 1966 parts. We think someone used a 1966 donor car for alot of parts.

I suppose it's possible that the wiring harnes is 1966. . .but it's probably a short in the turn signal switch. Thank's.
