I'm looking to increase the tire and possibly wheel size on my 65 convertible, but I am concerned about damage to the fiberglass.
Can anyone who has previous experience, please give me some advice?
Thanks.

With stock rims, 205/75-15 or 215/70-15 is about as big as you can go without risking body damage. Others will have info on larger/wider rims.

I'm running 17" x 7" rims with 225/50/17's. In the rear I should have gone with 225 x 60's. I had no interference problems and even dropped the car about an inch. I'd say that is as far as you can safely go. 8" rims will not fit my 63 without sticking out beyond the edge of the fender and I believe the 65's are exactly the same. I'm using stock 65 trailing arms. I did trim the most inner corner of the front fenders which scraped when turning. I removed a triangle about 1/4" x 1".

Good luck. Let us know your choice.
